Cracked Foundation Wall
The foundation within Jon's home had an obvious rather large crack. This is where Jon realized he needed to find a solution!
Trench For Weight Bearing Plates
GeoLock Wall Anchors' installation begins with excavating the ground on the other side of the foundation wall where the anchor plate needs to be installed. Once the trench was dug for Jons's home, the anchor plates were positioned to continue the installation.
Drilling a Hole Into The Foundation
The next step when installing GeoLock Wall Anchors is to drill a hole into the foundation. The drilled holes will be where the steel rods are inserted. Once the hole is prepared, the steel rod can be guided through to the anchor plate in the ground. Luckily the drilled holes are minor and do not leave a big mess!
Drilling A Steel Rod Through the Foundation
Once the hole is drilled out for the steel rod, the rod is guided through the hole and to the weight-bearing plate in the ground. Once the steel rod makes it through, it will be attached to the plate in the ground. As shown above, the remainder of the rod will stick out to connect the interior wall plate.
Wrapping Up the Installation Of GeoLock Wall Anchors
Lastly, a low-profile wall plate is bolted into place and attached to the steel rod sticking through the wall. Once the plate is secured, the anchor system can be tightened, creating a pulling pressure on the wall. The pulling force will bring the wall back into its original position, permanently stabilizing the home! Jon was happy to have found a permanent solution for his house!
