SmartJack
To Craig and Linda's surprise, their home had structural issues. Their floor joists were sagging into the crawl space. Thus, the team at Ayers suggested installing SmartJacks. SmartJacks are steel support systems that permanently stabilize and level floor joists. The process consists of digging a two-foot cube hole for concrete to be poured in. the concrete will act as a base to support the weight on the jack. A steel tube is then fit to the correct length and attached to the floor joist and Smart Jack. Once everything is tightened, the floor joist is stabilized immediately, and the floor can be lifted back to level. Craig and Linda were pleased they would no longer need to worry about structural issues!
Drainage Mats
Drainage Mats are dimpled polyethylene membrane mats that are put on the crawlspace ground and under the CleanSpace System. The dimples in the mat allow water to flow through different channels toward a centralized drain point. Drainage Mats ensure water is not puddling or pooling where it shouldn't be.
Crawl Space Before Any Work
As you can see, Craig and Linda's crawl space was in poor shape; the Insulation was hanging down and looked very messy. Not to mention the crawl space was challenging to move around in.
CleanSpace Installation
CleanSpace was installed into Craig and Linda's crawl space to eliminate moisture. CleanSpace utilizes a heavy-duty liner that lines the entire crawlspace. The liner creates a vapor barrier that stops moisture from coming into the crawlspace and drains that water behind the liner and to a drain point. CleanSpace was an excellent option for Craig and Linda to eliminate moisture! Not to mention, CleanSpace leaves the space nice and clean!
