Removing Moisture
To treat the basement of moisture already within the home, Evan and his team used an Ayers trusted industrial dehumidifier. This step is important because moisture in a home poses a major risk to the home's safety. Moisture invites microorganisms that eat organic material like the ones found in the home's support works. This weakens the integrity of the structure risking further damage. Moisture in the home also invites mold. Mold spores pose a risk to the health of the home's occupants, endangering their respiratory health.
Replacing a Sump Pump
The home was working with a sump pump that was sub-par. To better help the drawing system, Bruce installed a TipleSafe pump to better equip the home to handle floods. TripleSafe is a powerful sump pump with three levels of security. The first level is a powerful motor with a high capacity. the second level of security is a reserve motor that activates if the first is overworked. The final measure of security is a backup battery that activates when the home loses power.
Underground Drain System
Floods can be unpredictable and the home is in a location that makes high water yields likely. To prep the home for the potential outcome, Bruce and his team fitted the home with a WaterGuard system. WaterGuard is comprised of a series of channels that are installed under the foundational floor. They connect to the sump pump leads to a safe deposit area way from the home. WaterGuard controls the water and directs it all while remaining invisible.
