Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: A Wet and Moldy Basement Receives a Complete Transformation in Kalamazoo, MI

Our friend Don D. from Kalamazoo, MI began experiencing water seepage where the wall meets the floor in his unfinished basement. This issue was leaving standing water in the majority of his basement. Upon receiving Don’s call for help, our System Design Specialists examined the issues in his basement and prescribed WaterGuard to remedy the problem. Installed along the home's footing, beneath the concrete, WaterGuard collects water along the base of the perimeter walls and safely directs it to a sump pump for removal from the home. Additionally, we installed a Double Safe sump pump to enhance the function of the WaterGuard. DoubleSafe is a safeguard feature that includes the use of two pumps to ensure this basement will stay dry, even under unfortunate events. In the case of heavy water or primary pump failure, the second and more powerful pump will kick in. To begin WaterGuard installation we must first remove the concrete. The water in the trench is strongly visual evidence that Don's basement is currently drowning.

The Installation Process is Coming Along Nicely

This line will carry the water collected around the perimeter of Don's basement to his sump pump for removal from his home. Once the system is set in place, drainage stone will be placed around the line and concrete will be replaced over top. Making this concrete floor seamless once again.
