The Problem is Climbing up the Steps
The water issues in Mike's basement are definitely a concern. Near the floor a kick plate has been replaced most likely due to water damage and the one for the bottom step has been completely removed.
The Evidence is Growing
These large watermarks on Mike's basement floor are a reminding sign of the water troubles he has continued to face for several years.
Welcoming the WaterGuard
The WaterGuard installation process starts when the concrete is removed at the base of the walls, exposing the homes footing.
Being Safe is not Enough, but Being TripleSafe is
The Triple Safe sump pump system is now being installed. For Mike, the days of simply being safe are now over. He is now TripleSafe! This sump pump contains all of the essential features needed to help keep his basement dry.
Placing the WaterGuard into Action
Now that the concrete has been removed at the base of the walls, the WaterGuard drain system is set into place. Then drainage stone is laid around the WaterGuard to allow maximum drainage. The wall flange creates a small gap that allows moisture from the walls and cove joint to freely flow into the drain.
Installing a Trench Drain
We elected to install an Interior Trench Drain to help keep this high-traffic water prone area dry. The Trench Drain will connect to the WaterGuard and allow convenient water discharge.
It's Time for Fresh Cement
After drainage stone is laid around the WaterGuard, concrete is replaced over top.
Designing a Discharge Line
The Triple Safe sump pump discharge line is installed to ensure the water is directed away from Mike's home.
The Discharge Line Design is Now Complete
To complete our work outside Mike's home, the discharge line is buried and the Lawnscape outlet gives water from the Triple Safe sump pump the opportunity to flow away from his home. The Lawnscape outlet prevents the line from clogs, is convenient to mow around and adds beauty to the home.
The Trench Drain is a Done Deal
The cement is now replaced around the Trench Drain and a metal grate is installed. The floor becomes seamless once again and the Trench Drain insures this area is safe from future water danger.
Having a Wet Basement Becomes a Thing of the Past
Once the concrete has been replaced, the floor is once again seamless. The WaterGuard system will go virtually unnoticed and is a welcomed asset to the home. The Triple Safe sump pump is level with the floor and close to the wall making it minimally invasive of the useful space in Mike's basement.
