Rust will lead you to Water
Rust means water, if you can fins a way to eliminate water, you eliminate rust. Luckily, this homeowner called the right people.
Installing WaterGuard
The WaterGuard is the pipe that runs water underneath the floors. This system runs on top of the footing instead of alongside it. The WaterGuard has a big drain outlet to the sump. It also has a built in tiny gap between the floor and the wall so that it can drain any wall leaks. This system is designed not to clog by having holes in case of debris clogging the pipe. The WaterGuard collects the water from drains in the basement.
WaterGuard
Any water that makes its way through the basement wall will drip down into the WaterGuard which will transport out of the basement.
Much better!
We decided to install CleanSpace which is perfect for eliminate moisture from entering through the basement walls. CleanSpace is a 20 mil thick plastic liner that fits to the crawl space to completely seal the home from the earth. Polyester cord reinforcement allows for a lot of durability, to make it last longer than the home will. This liner also contains an antimicrobial additive to prevent mold.
TripleSafe Sump Pump
This new sump pump is perfect for keeping any water out of the basement. TripleSafe is a sump pump with three different pumps in one liner. The first being the 1/3 hp zoeller pump which does most of the pumping and is placed at the bottom of the liner. The second is the 1/2 hp zoeller that is placed slightly higher than the first. This pump is more powerful but will only be turned on when needed. The final pump is the battery-operated UltraSump DC which is used in case of a power outage, this pump can pump up to 24,000 gallons of water.
IceGuard
The IceGuard is most commonly used for homes that experience freezing winters. This goes outside the home and automatically flows the water away from the exterior wall just in case the pipe freezes. The IceGuard allows any water to exit even when the pipe is frozen by having holes that direct the water out of the pipe when the pipe is frozen. When the pipe is not frozen, no water exits the holes.
Lawnscape Outlet
This is a water dispersion outlet that is connected to a pipe placed underneath the lawn to allow any water collected in the gutters to be dispersed away from the walls of the home. This LawnScape outlet is removable as well, this is to empty out any collected leaves or other debris that may be blocking water from exiting. This is a great discrete replacement for the rain chute that covers up part of the lawn. Also, the LawnScape Outlet won't be a tripping or mowing hazard.
