Leaking Cracks Need to be Taken Care of Properly
You can see in this picture that the cracks in the floor are allowing a lot of standing water into this basement. Moisture in a basement is never good because it allows for mold growth, causes a musty smell that can ruin belongings.
Shop Vacuums Are Only a Temporary Fix
We often find that people notice water in their basement and attempt to get rid of it by vacuuming it up. This is a temporary fix because water will continue to come in your basement until it's fixed properly.
Space Heaters are Costly and Also a Temporary Fix
Space heaters can cause an electric bill to skyrocket and they really aren't doing much good. They are ineffective because they dry up the water until another big rain or the snow melts and then you're back to square one with a flooded basement.
Inefficient Sump Pumps Are Not Good
We see this far too often in homes: this sump pump is not draining the water at all and is actually causing more standing water. A proper sump pump will do so much for your basement to ensure that it stays dry.
Steps in the WaterGuard Process
We place the WaterGuard system literally around the entire perimeter of the basement. The system is placed above the footing rather than next to it so no mud or debris can get in and cause it to back up. Also, you can see that this homeowner's belongings on the right are covered in plastic for protection, so no moving is required for us to complete the job.
Concrete is Restored
After the WaterGuard is placed and the sump pump is installed, we put down new concrete. This restores the floor so your basement looks like it was before we got there, just with no standing water.
Drains Installed for Maintenance
You can see in the new concrete that there is a small drain installed. These are put in throughout the WaterGuard system for maintenance check ups. You can easily run a hose through the hole in the drain and clean out the entire system if needed.
TripleSafe is the Way to Go
Our TripleSafe sump pump is the way to go and the ultimate sump pump. It has 3 pumps: the first one does all the work, the second one is there if the first one can't keep up and the third is battery-operated in case the power goes out.
Burying the Discharge Line
We get to bury the discharge line from the basement thanks to the LawnScape outlet at the end. No more mowing over this annoying pipe.
LawnScape Outlet Will Make Things Easier
Many people who install our WaterGuard system and a sump pump will usually go with a LawnScape outlet as well. This allows the water to escape without having huge, bulky discharge lines laying around your yard. Everything is buried underground besides the outlet.
No More Freezing Discharge Lines
These fittings on top of the discharge lines are what we call our IceGuard system. The fittings are plastic but made with holes in the top so when the water freezes in the winter it still has a way to drain without backing up the entire system.
