Keeping Everything off the Floor in Wet Basement
When your basement floods regularly, you get really good at keeping everything off the floor. In this case, shelves and wall hooks keep everything out of the water.
Standing Water Puts Appliances at Risk
In addition to ruining possessions, standing water can also damage appliances and fixtures (like pipes, etc) by causing them to rust.
Extensive Flooding in Basement
This basement didn't just have puddles or a concentrated area of standing water; the whole basement was wet, with staining on the walls giving evidence to long term problems.
Ruined Possessions in Wet Basement
Wonder what was in that box? Whatever it was, it's likely damaged if not ruined now. Along with the table and potentially that dresser. Water is unforgiving and quick to damage organic materials like all of the wood-based items shown here.
Your Dog Deserves Better
This picture is only included because of the dog, but it's a good dog, and it deserves better than a flooded, musty basement.
Working Around Existing Fixtures
We can install WaterGuard around existing fixtures, like this water heater, in order to minimize the disruption to your basement.
Hauling Stone for WaterGuard
We use drainage stone to keep the WaterGuard in place and the water draining evenly, and we get it inside the old-fashioned way - by hauling buckets.
Removing the Floor for CrossTile
In very large basements, or basements with multiple low areas, we install cross tile between sections of the WaterGuard to increase flow and make sure all the water makes it to the sump pump efficiently. The process is similar to WaterGuard installation - remove the floor, install, pour new concrete.
Removing Floor for WaterGuard
We remove a perimeter of the floor in order to install the WaterGuard, then pour new concrete. You'll never know we - or water - were there.
Crosstile Installation
The crosstile creates a sort of superhighway for water to enter the sump pump.
Lawnscape Outlet Keeps a Low Profile
Once the discharge line is buried, the only sign of it is this outlet, which allows water to escape while remaining unobtrusive.
Super Sump Pump Discharges Water Quickly
The Super Sump pump will take care of water quickly and efficiently. Tying the pump into the WaterGuard ensures that all water will make it over and out.
Extended Discharge Line Keeps Water Away
By extending the discharge line to work with the grade of the lawn, we can prevent water from immediately soaking back into the foundation.
Waterproofing Tight Spaces
This area of the basement is a little smaller but is also the low point, which means damage can pile up even faster. But with WaterGuard and the new Super Sump on the job, it's covered.
Burying the Discharge Line
We're very careful when digging a trench for the discharge line so we can simply replace the sod. One good rain and a little time for the grass to grow and it'll be impossible to tell the line is there.
