Dry Crawl Space: One Step Closer to Selling a House in Traverse City
Challenge
Leslie was at a constant battle with her crawl space. No matter what she did it was always wet, and water was beginning to form dirty puddles.
She knew it was time to take action once she decided to to sell her house. Leslie was aware that when she officially put her house on the market, the buyer would specifically look into the history and upkeep of the crawl sapce and basement. As she wanted to increase the value of her property and make a final sale, the crawl space would need to be fixed.
With the support of her grandparents, Leslie was ready to begin the journey to a dry crawl space and gave us a call.
Solution
After inspecting the area, the first step was to remove the excess debris and water that was beginning to fill the crawl sapce. Then, we installed a SmartSump pump with IceGuard and a Lawnscape outlet in order to keep the space dry.
The SmartSump is specifically made for crawl spaces, and can pump out up to 2,500 gallons of water per hour. A IceGuard system was installed on the dischage line outside of the house which prevents the line from freezing over during the winter months and stops any water from going back into the home. The Lawnscape outlet, which is at the end of the discharge line, is located away from the house and does not interfere with any outdoor landscaping.
With these additions to Leslie's crawl space, we know she will have a much easier time selling her home and we send her our best wishes during the process!
