Photo Album: WaterGuard Provides Drainage for Rochester Hills, MI Home

Karen contacted us at Ayers to find a solution for her basement. Over time, water has begun to seep down her basement walls, resulting in floor damage. An inspection was set up and conducted to determine the cause of the problem. The team concluded that water was leaking through cracks in the foundation, and the best course of action would be an internal draining system.

The corner above is where most of the water leaked into Karen's basement. The black marks were signs of water leaks, and the floor below was damaged.

Implementing the WaterGuard System

Karen decided to have the WaterGuard system installed in her basement. WaterGuard is a French drain system that sits below the basement floor and above the home's footing. The location of the drain keeps it out of the mud zone, unlike other drains!

Plumbing the Drain

The WaterGuard System wraps around the entire perimeter of the basement. Thus, the drain will catch any water that may come into the home! Any water captured by the drain will funnel directly to the sump pump and out of Karen's house!

Concluding the Installation

The team could finalize the installation once the drain system was set and plumbed. The drain was covered back up with cement, eliminating the drain from view. Karen was thrilled with the installation; her basement was waterproofed and looked great!
