Photo Album: Adding Support to a Grand Rapids, MI Basement

Dave had a wall in the basement that was bowing and other walls had stairstep cracks on it. He was concerned with the support of the wall and needed a fix fast. We used the CarbonArmor Wall Reinforcing System to secure the walls with the cracks. The CarbonArmor system is made up of very strong carbon fiber straps that are bonded to the wall with a high strength resin which do not allow the walls to crack any further. This system does not requires exterior excavation and installs quickly. To save the bowing wall, we installed the GeoLock Wall Anchors. These anchors are made of steel and prevent any further movement. The system works by extending from the wall into the stable soil beyond the home. They anchor into these stronger soils and brace the foundation wall. The anchors are installed with minimal disruption to your lawn and they won't damage the interior of your basement.

Tilting Wall

This wall is the wall in the basement of the home that is bowing and needs to be supported. When we looked at it we knew the owner needed help and had just the solution for the problem!

Pulling Apart

Through the "doorway" you can see the wall in the back. The bricks are coming apart and look as if they are being pulled apart. This is not a good sign so if you see this in your home, give us a call.

Stair step Cracks for Days

If you look closely, you can see the stair step cracking on this block foundation wall. This is a sign of the foundation settling but you don't want to let it get worse so the homeowner was right to give us a call.

A Little Bit of CarbonArmor

As you can see, we applied the CarbonArmor straps to this wall due to the cracks on it. The straps keep the wall from moving or the cracks getting worse.

This is the wall that had all the stair step cracks before. We installed the CarbonArmor to stabilize the wall and keep the cracks from getting worse.
