Photo Album: Fixing a Crumbling Wall in Lansing MI

This homeowner is in charge of a duplex in the Lansing area. There were cracks in the basement wall that were so severe, you could see the outside. Other walls in the basement were starting to bow. As you can imagine, that is not a great issue to have in any home, especially a rental property so he called us for a solution. Say No to DIY Solutions

This is the wall that has the cracks in it. As you can see they tried a DIY solution to patch the cracks but those are not long lasting solutions to the problem.

Bowing Walls are Bad Signs

You can tell in this picture that the wall is bowing which is not something you want to see in your home. Bowing could have resulted from the home settling and could get worse if not fixed so give us a call if you have this happening.

This is a closer look at the crack in the wall and if you look carefully you can see the sunlight in the back. This is not a great thing to have in your home and you can not patch this up with some cement or at home solution.

You can see the cracks from outside which is a sign of the home settling and will get worse if not fixed.

Brace a Bowing Wall

The PowerBrace system is made of steel beams that are secured to the joists above the wall with steel brackets. This holds up the wall which halts movement so the bowing can't get worse.
