Give Your Home the Summer Bod it Deserves

Give Your Home the \"Summer Bod\" it Deserves - Image 1

It’s not too late to get your home in summer shape.

We have more time right now to spend outside and inspect every nook and cranny of our homes. Like that dent in your driveway you trip over in summer and slide over in winter. Yes, the same one you forget about every, single, day.

Well, now you have time to give your home its best summer bod. You deserve to be proud of your home. It’s your investment and, most importantly, your sanctuary.

Truth is, small imperfections we habitually ignore become albatrosses around our necks requiring a larger fix. So, let’s narrow down a few inside and outside fixes to make an immediate impact while the weather is nice.

Here’s how to get your home RIPPED!

Fix Sinking Concrete

Most of us have learned to live with the uneven concrete in our driveway or porch. That’s an albatross waiting in the wings. Unlevel concrete is a tripping hazard not only for your family but for your guests. Our highly engineered, light PolyLevel® foam lifts and levels those sunken slabs by filling in areas where soil has settled. What an entrance a beautifully levelled driveway adds to your home’s curb appeal.

Seal Concrete Cracks

Don’t make the mistake of sealing concrete cracks yourself using DIY sealants from the hardware store. Rather, scratch your DIY itch by Youtubing “How to cut my hair at home” . . . it’s a thing. Here’s the deal, those DIY sealants are urethane-based which means they can’t withstand UV rays or changes in temperature. They will break down over time and need to be replaced. Hands up anyone who’s ever returned to the same aisle at Home Depot for a different solution to the same problem. Our concrete joint sealants protect your slabs from erosion, cracking and sinking for many years. You can’t get that from a can.

Replace Faulty Sump Pump

This balmy 90-degree weather has you forgetting about that faulty sump pump that “ghosts” you every Michigan spring and fall when your basement floods. Replacing your failing sump pump will stave off inevitable water issues in your basement that you can’t prevent, but we certainly can. For example, our TripleSafe sump pump gives you three levels of protection and r increases in flooding and even a loss of power. Yes, we did build a sump pump that works while you sleep, just like your investments should.

Reduce Humidity

Another thing working in your home while you sleep is water vapor! How long will you ignore that cold, wet basement of yours? Water enters your basement at many entry points like your porous block walls or through the basement floor and it does not have clear route to successfully exit the basement. Yes, it really is a catch and release maneuver to rid your home of humidity, which is why basement waterproofing is not a DIY job. It takes hard work, as well as our specialized knowledge, skill and equipment. We know how damaging humidity can be on a home, so let us help you make an educated decision on what work you want done and WHY.

Not sure which one of these four tips to act on? Call us! We’ll walk you through it.
