One Size Does Not Fit All
This past week has been a really great example of Michigan’s ever-changing weather. In the Lansing area, we went from 60 and sunny to 20 and snowing, with a rebound back into the 60s coming this week. Traverse City still has lows in the teens and all along the lake shore there’s still snow on the ground. Even outside of weather, things like soil composition and inland lakes mean that it’s impossible to say you “know Michigan” if you stay in one place.
It’s easy to give generic solutions when you only work in a small area, because many problems end up having similar causes and can be fixed by the same solution. But we work all over Michigan’s lower peninsula and down into northern Indiana.
That’s why we hire system design specialists to work where they live. They know how to best handle foundation problems in the sandy soil on the west side of the state. They know how much power a sump pump system will need to deal with the high water table around Gun Lake. This means that your inspection will be tailored not only to your home, but also to the area surrounding it.
The next time your home has water or foundation issues, ask yourself: Do you want a generic salesperson who wants to sell you a predetermined product that may or may not be right for you? Or do you want an inspector who lives in your area, knows its quirks, and cares about the neighborhood? The choice is clear.
