Turn Your Basement into Extra Living Space
It’s that time of year again. The Pre-Holiday Panic. Emails and group chats start up about where and when meals and celebrations will occur, and don’t forget so and so is doing a new weird diet where they can only have cheese and La Croix, and can we stay at your house for the weekend and--
Yep. That request to stay over just snuck right in there.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I love the holidays, and once I stop renting and buy a house I will be all about hosting and preparing meals. But as my husband and I begin our house hunt, we’re already looking for a finished basement (or a basement that can be finished easily).
All of our close family and friends live at least two hours away, a distance that makes it likely and most feasible to have them stay over. And while I love them, I don’t love people sleeping at my house. No matter how much space or how many extra bathrooms you have upstairs it always ends up feeling inconvenient and claustrophobic one night in, let alone a holiday or extended weekend.
Which is why we’ll have a finished basement. It’s like a whole other world down there, and it gives space to both you and your guests. But if your basement is constantly flooding or even leaking, it isn’t possible.
That’s where we come in.
First, you should know that our system design specialists are the best in the industry. They’re going to go over every corner and crevice of your basement and figure out where the water is coming in and how to solve the issue. And they’ll sit down with you and explain it. They’ll draw diagrams, they’ll draw up a solution and quote right at your table so you can add features until the system is perfect for you, and they’ll leave you with that quote and their contact information so you can make the right decision for your family.
Our installation crews are also the best. Hands down, not only the most knowledgeable and professional team, but also just a really nice group of guys. They’ll treat your home like it’s their own and not only do their best to minimize dust and clean up, but they’ll do the clean up themselves. And again, along the way they’ll explain what they’re doing and be on hand to answer any questions you may have. Decide to add a dehumidifier after all? Just let them know and they’ll bring one.
Now, it doesn’t stop with your basement being dry. We can also do the work to get it ready for bedrooms, a rec room, whatever you want to put down there. Need an egress window for a planned bedroom? We do that. Want flooring that’s inorganic, waterproof, and actually insulates against the cold concrete to give your feet a few extra degrees? We do that too. Even if you just start with waterproofing, you can talk to your design specialist or even your project foreman during the process if you want to add on more features. You can also call our office, where full time staff are on hand to answer questions about anything from signing up for our annual maintenance program to getting your project financed. We do it all, and we do it well.
Hosting holidays is hectic enough. Get your houseguests out of your hair and give them a comfortable and private basement suite for their stay. Call us today to schedule a free estimate and get started.
