Possibilities of a Finished Basement
Last week, Logan highlighted some products you can use to add a finished look to your basement while still providing waterproof protection. Today, I’m going to venture beyond man caves and talk about the other possibilities of a finished basement.
But first, we’re going to talk about a new product, mostly because I’m excited about it.
As you might already know, we offer a variety of flooring options, from carpet to laminate to wood looks, and our most recent addition to the line has been a plank flooring that mimics hardwood but with the benefit of being waterproof.
Until now, the plank flooring has been available in a wood look, and while it makes for a beautiful finished look, it’s not really for me. Like a lot of people, I fall into that HGTV “everything is gray and white” aesthetic. So, the arrival of our new Elite Plank Flooring in gray is a gamechanger for anyone who wants a more modern look in their basement.
Alright, now that I’ve gushed about flooring, let’s talk about all of the things you could put on top of it in your basement.
Bedroom
This is the most obvious one, but also one of the most useful transformations. By law, basement bedrooms need an egress window (which we can install!). An additional bedroom or two can accommodate a growing family or create guest space that allows privacy and keeps everyone out of each other’s hair.
Gym
Wouldn’t it be nice to have a space to set up your treadmill, or do yoga without dodging the cat the whole time? The great thing about our flooring (tile and plank style) is that it actually keeps the floor a few degrees warmer than just the concrete or concrete + carpet would. And the waterproof design means that you can sweat, or spill your water bottle, without consequence.
Family Multipurpose Room
Maybe you have a teenager whose friends have made themselves at home, or a ten-year-old super into ballet this year, or a five-year-old eager to explore her artistic side. Maybe you have all three. Why not make them a space of their own? The comfort and protection provided by our finishing products for walls and floor mean it’s easy to add a tv room, studio, or even an art studio (or some of each) without losing space upstairs.
Once your basement is waterproofed, the possibilities are endless. Call us today to schedule your FREE inspection.
