Ayers Team Challenge: Where Everything's Made Up but the Points Do Matter
The Ayers team challenge just finished week three and it’s already off to a great start. We have early favorites in each challenge but they have teams nipping at their heels, so there’s no room to slack - this is a marathon, not a sprint.
In the foreman/system design specialist pair Challenge 1, Ryan and Greg are in the lead, with Kyle/Steve and Logan/Kenny not far behind. Challenge 1 teams have scored a total of 800 points in the first three weeks.
As for Challenge 2, which involves teams made up of our office staff and service/production team members, Ariel (appt center), Lucas and David (production), and John (accounting) are in the lead with two teams right behind them, as well. Strangely, the Challenge 2 teams have also racked up a total of 800 points. It’s a little creepy.
There are some new bonus point opportunities in the coming weeks, including “Virgil Bucks,” which are 10 point bonus certificates Virgil can award to any employee he sees going above and beyond. Since Virgil was trying to hand out points on his own anyway, this at least gives us a tracking method. Owners - I tell ya.
This Monday, our foremen and system design specialists will be having a tug-o-war contest at the One Team meeting because we’re all 9 years old, and the winning team will also get bonus points. We’ll post photos; I’m sure it’ll be ridiculous.
In the spirit of the trash talking that has been occurring around the office, let me take an opportunity to call out my own team, which includes our production manager Ron, because I am the only person who has brought in points. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER.
