EverLast Wall Panels: A Basement Finishing Must-Have
Most basements in Michigan live on as dark unfinished spaces that provide for great storage and maybe a home for litter boxes. They’re not functional living spaces in the least. What a waste! If you could create a small space just large enough to accommodate your storage needs and then finished off the rest of the basement, what do you think you could do with all that extra usable space? I wrote a blog about all the options that are available to homeowners last week.
Ayers Basement Systems has a variety of products to help with basement finishing from walls to floors. One product in particular that I absolutely love and want to share with you are EverLast Wall Panels. These panels are awesome! They're designed specifically for basements with every concern addressed.
The primary concern in a basement space is water usually, right? In the case of drywall, when the base of the wall gets wet, it sucks in the moisture which wicks up the wall and creates the potential for mold to develop on the drywall or latex paint surfaces. EverLast panels in contrast are a cement board with a washable vinyl finish. With no drywall or paint, mold and water damage are no concern.
Let’s talk about strength. The panels are incredibly strong and nearly impossible to dent. You can hang virtually anything on these panels simply using a screw or nail without having to find a stud as you would with drywall.
When it comes to looks, they are a real winner. Everlast wall panels and trim come in a beige and off-white, two of the most common interior colors, and two colors that are highly complementary to a variety of design styles and themes. The panels have a textured surface to them which helps to hide marks. Nail holes don’t require spackling or painting to repair. Simply fill the holes with putty and they blend right in.
EverLast wall panels can be installed from floor to ceiling just like drywall or if you’d like a more economical and visually appealing option, half wall panels with a chair rail trim at the top can really liven up a room.
