Weird Wednesday: Indiana Basement or Legoland?
If you’re like me, you probably played with Legos at some point in your childhood. While I chose to go more of the Barbie route as I got older, 11 year old Teegan of Jasper, Indiana has devoted her time to Lego’s since she was younger, proving to have mastered the Lego craft.
Stepping into Teegan’s basement, you’d think you were entering Legoland. Three large tables consume most of the space in the room, covered with intricate lego kits she’s built. Over 50 kits cover the tables, some Teegan created by following the directions, the others constructed completely on her own. She even created a Lego movie theater from scratch—a design which landed her a spot in the final 10 of the Lego Friends Designer Competition.
Her dad says the room has always been a dedicated playroom, but now the Legos have taken over the space. The workspace will likely expand through more of the basement once she receives 33 new kits from Lego for securing her spot in the competition. Teegan takes great pride in her work, and enjoys engineering structures and exercising her creativity through Legos.
I have feeling this girl will make a great civil engineer, but do you think she’s taken precautionary measures to construct a basement waterproofing system in any of those Lego houses?!
