The crawl space in the before photo was dealing with serious flooding issues. Water was coming in from a variety of places, and as you can see, filling the crawl space. When our system design specialist went out to White Cloud, MI to see the cottage for himself, he found 2 feet of standing water in the crawl space.  The first step was pumping out all of that standing water to prepare for the encapsulation. With the water out of the crawl space, the team installed a full encapsulation system. The white liner seen in the after photo is our CleanSpace vapor barrier. Our barriers are impenetrable by moisture, so it’ll keep out the water that leaks into the crawl space. Water won’t threaten this crawl space again.

SuperSump and WaterGuard Saves White Cloud, MI Basement from Water Leakage

Tom L. of White Cloud, MI was experiencing water leakage in his basement in the spring when the snow melted before he reached out for our help. When water leaks into a basement like this, mold can growth, musty odors can develop, and these things can cause congestion and even asthma. For these reasons, Tom gave us a call. 

We installed two of our favorite products: the WaterGuard French drain system and the SuperSump premier sump pump system. The WaterGuard system rests below the basement floor and above the foundation footing, catching all the water that seeps into the basement from the walls. After the water is in the drain, it is redirected to the sump pump to be pumped up and out of the home. 

The sump pump we installed for this project was the SuperSump sump pump. The SuperSump is a sump pump specifically designed to keep your basement dry for long periods of time. Capable of pumping 2,220 gallons of water per hour, it is suitable for heavy water intrusion.

With these two systems installed, Tom can be rest assured that water will not be causing problems for him next spring.

WaterGuard rests below the basement floor but above the foundation footing, collecting water that seeps into the basement from the walls. Once this water is collected in the drain, it is sent to the sump pump to be pumped up and out of the home.
