A homeowner from Boon, Michigan called us referring to his basement foundation walls. He wanted our professional help fixing it. We drove to his property and gave him a free estimate. After inspection, we noticed that wall anchors would be perfect for this basement. We install these by digging a tiny hole in that are a few feet away from the home. Then we drill a steel rod through a 1-inch hole in the basement wall. After that, the rod connects to an anchor that is placed in the hole of the soil. Once we place the plates on afterward, we have permanently stabilized the basement. So now the homeowner doesn't have to worry about an unsafe basement ever again.

Robert M. had a home built close to a lake and wanted his crawl space to be encapsulated. His home was built in 2000 and the walls were made of poured concrete. Due to his home being near a lake, our team of experts decided to install CleanSpace and a SmartSump sump pump.
Poured concrete walls allow water and moisture to seep through and enter the crawl space. The CleanSpace liner, made of plastic (an inorganic material), will prevent water and moisture from seeping into the space. The SmartSump sump pump will pump out any water that gathers in the space from the concrete walls and pump it out.
In addition to CleanSpace and the SmartSump, we installed the Iceguard and the Lawnscape Outlet. The Lawnscape Outlet provides a place for the water to discharge, that gathers in the sump pump, away from the house. We want to make sure the water has somewhere to go. Iceguard is installed to make sure the water is still able to discharge when the discharge lines freeze in those cold winter months. It keeps the water from backing up into your crawl space.
This customer was in a tough spot when she got a hold of us. She had been left this 1966 home with foundation walls that were literally cracking and crumbling in every direction. Since the foundation holds up your entire home, this was obviously a situation that needed to be handled quickly and properly.
Our team of experts assessed the sitaution and decided our Wall Anchors would be the best solution to fix this foundation. This system can only work if there is room for digging on the outside of the home, but is definitely the best option to fix the wall over time. Wall anchors are used to fix very severe problems such as leaning walls, walls sliding in at the bottom and ones that are heavily cracked. This will fix your problem once and for all and will restore the propertly value on your home.
Barb G. contacted our team at Ayers Basement Systems because the crawl space under her mom's house was a mess. They were working on the floor and pulled up the floor boards to reveal a crawl space that was very wet and had lots of mold and a mildew smell.
Mold and a wet crawl space can be one of your worst nightmares. The wetness can evaporate into the rooms above the crawl space and cause the entire house to smell bad. It can also cause wood rot and we all know a rotted floor joist is not good. Mold can create health issues and it drastically affects the resale value of your home.
Our team at Ayers decided the best option to fix this wet crawl space was our clean space system. CleanSpace encapsulates the entire crawl space from all outside elements such as dirt, water, and wind. The system also has additives that make it so no mold can grow on it. CleanSpace is also very durable so you can store belongings on top once it's installed.
Eric S. contacted us because a wall in his garage was bowing inward quite badly. There was stairstep cracks in the bricks and they were separating. Stairstep cracks occur when the wall begins to bow more severely in the middle and the corners are held up by adjacent walls. This was obvioulsy an issue that needed to be addressed as soon as possible.
To fix the cracking and to stop the wall from bowing inward any farther, we installed Wall Anchors. Wall anchors have a rather quick installation and they can be easily installed around pipes, vanities, sinks etc. That makes them a great choice to fix your wall and they restore property value. Wall anchors can also be tightened overtime so they really work to straighten your wall and get it back to normal.
Every homeowner who has a crawl space probably dreads having to go down there or just avoids entering the space at all costs. But we have just the solution to make this a more accessible, usable space for you, plumbers, or anyone else who may have to enter your musty crawl space. We call this system CleanSpace. CleanSpace is fitted to your crawl space and attached at the walls and covers the entire floor as well. The material is made of a very thick plastic that is inorganic and waterproof so there is no chance of mold growth. CleanSpace can get rid of odor, it directs any water to the sump pump and keeps out critters. It really is a great system that will take all your crawl space worries away. Not to mention, its a bright, white color so it really lightens up the space and makes it more appealing to enter.
Cracking and sinking pavement can not only look ugly, but it also can decrease home value and become a tripping hazard. Luckily, at Ayers Basement Systems, we are able to bring concrete back to its original position and prevent further moving of concrete slabs. Using PolyLevel, we are able to provide a quick curing solution that is noninvasive and incredible stable. PolyLevel works through making a small hole in the cement to fill the empty void under the slab with foam. This foam has a very quick curing time and will bring the cement back up to the original position. Once the slab is in the right position, the foam will harden to be driven on the same day.
Mary has a couple walls in her basement that were cracking and bowing. She wanted a lasting solution to keep her home safe. We used the PowerBrace Foundation Wall Repair System to stop further movement in the wall and potentially straighten it. The system is made up of steel I beams that are secured to the wall joists with steel brackets. PowerBraces don't require exterior excavation, doesn't disrupt the basement, and installs quickly!
Duncan and his wife bought this 1904 Cadillac home because of its history and wanted to preserve it. The home had cracks on both the inside and outside as well as some windows that were sticking. We used Helical Piers to stabilize the home so that there would not be more settlement. The Piers have fast, year-round installation. On top of stabilizing the structure, they can help to restore the foundation to the original level.
Darcy had some standing water in her crawl space and she was concerned that mold was growing. The water was also causing a musty smell throughout her home so she called us for a solution to keep the smell, water, mold, and critters out of her crawl space. We first laid down Drainage Matting which had raised dimples in it to allow the flow of water to the sump pump. We then installed the SuperSump Plus sump pump system to keep the water out of the space. This sump pump is made to keep the space healthy and dry for extended periods of time even with heavy water intrusion. CleanSpace was installed as a vapor barrier to keep humidity, moisture, and pests out of the crawl space. It also has an antimicrobial additive to prevent the growth of mold. As added protection to keep the space dry, we installed the SaniDry Sedona. This dehumidifier gets rid of musty smells by drying out the air, filters the air for mold spores and dust, and has automatic draining. Lastly, to keep out any critters we installed the EverLast Door. These crawl space doors are made of inorganic plastics so they won't rot or rust. They create an airtight and waterproof seal between the crawl space and the outdoors.
Randy and Karen had a section of their driveway that was settling on one side so the slab was angled towards the home. When it rained the water would collect in the fallen area of the concrete and flood the driveway. They wanted a fix so they called us to see what we could do. We used PolyLevel to lift and level the sunken concrete in their driveway and keep the water from pooling. PolyLevel is a foam that is injected under the concrete and is lightweight but strong so it can support the added weight of vehicles. It is waterproof, stable, and dries in about 15 minutes!
Bob noticed unsightly cracks in his home's driveway and wanted a clean fix. He contacted Ayers and had our resident foreman Evan inspect the area. Evan decided the best way to treat the concrete was by using PolyLevel.
PolyLevel is a spray foam polymer that expands and moves under cracked concrete. The polymer is waterproof and levels the ground as it spreads. It is important not to wait because Polylevel can only be sprayed at temperatures above 40 degrees. When the Winter comes not much can be done and the weather can make the damage worse.
Jeff gave Ayers a call when he decided his crawl space needed a good fixer-upper job. Ayers professionals went ahead and gave his crawl space an inspection and then decided that installing CleanSpace would be the perfect solution.
CleanSpace is a thick plastic liner that will cover the interior of the crawl space and protect from excess moisture with its vapor barrier property. This barrier will protect from harmful mold and bacteria growth as well. With a trusty system like this installed, Jeff won't have to worry about the thick liner ripping and it will last decades.
Jeff is happy with his dry, clean crawl space!
Bob's bicycle store was experiencing uneven floors. Once it started to affect business, he contacted Ayers for a safe and permanent solution. Our resident foreman Evan was happy to inspect the building and found the soil had shifted.
To correct this problem, Evan and his team installed Helical Piers to re-stabilize the shop's foundation.
Helical Piers are a tool trusted by Ayers due to their non-intrusive nature compared to other foundational repair systems. The piers are long screw-shaped drives that are driven deep under the home at an angle. The drives keep going till they pass the weak soil and find new firm ground. The tops of the piers are capped with load-bearing caps that provide a flat surface for the home to rest upon.
Duane and Joy just bought their secondary vacation home in Cadillac, MI and were worried about the humidity in the springtime. The couple wanted a clean start to the home, so they called Ayers Basement Systems for a quote for any waterproofing measures that would be needed. Our crew came out for an inspection, and determined that our TripleSafe sump pump, drainage matting, and Clean Space Wall System would be perfect for their home's crawl space.
The TripleSafe sump pump system utilizes three pumps in order to remove excess water from the crawl space. The second and third pumps are in case of emergencies so the space can remain dry, even when the power goes out. Drainage matting is a liner for the crawl space that is placed underneath the CleanSpace plastic liner. If the crawl space ever gets wet, the dimpled mat allows water to pass below to the sump pump. CleanSpace Wall System is a moisture barrier that uses a thick plastic liner along crawl space walls to keep them dry and last decades longer. It also has antibacterial properties that prevent mold and bacteria growth. Damp air takes more energy to heat and cool. Cutting down on the moisture in the crawl space, in turn, will cut down on how much it costs to heat or cool the home.
Duane and Joy were ecstatic with the service and products provided by Ayers. They are grateful for the peace of mind knowing their new home is safe and dry for them and their family. The couple cannot wait to start making new memories together in their Cadillac, MI home.
Mary was concerned when her first-level floors began to slop so she contacted Ayers Basement for an inspection. Upon arrival, our foreman Evan was able to diagnose the issue, telling Mary that her foundation has begun to settle.
Evan prescribed a set of SmartJack piers that would reinforce the Supportworks. The ground surrounding the foundation became unfirm due to the amount of water collecting around the base of the home. To correct this issue Evan installed a TripleSafe sump pump, with three levels of protection against floods, to help control the amount of water around the home. Finally, he fitted the home with an IceGuard modification to ensure the pipes flow regularly, year-round.
Greg realized his dirt crawl space was vulnerable to outside pests, moisture, and mold. He researched his options for crawl space repair and decided to call Ayers. Our crew started with a free inspection of the area to make the best recommendations. The system design specialist on the job site suggested CleanSpace. This heavy-duty plastic liner has a vapor barrier that defends against excess moisture. It is placed on the floor and walls of the crawl space, creating a barrier between the moist soil and the home. Greg is glad he received professional encapsulation!
Kalman recently noticed the slanted floor in his den was getting worse. He tried various store-bought floor jacks, and nothing seemed to do the trick. The issue was frustrating, so he researched online and called Ayers to learn about our foundation solutions. A team of experts stopped by his home to assess the situation and recommended installing the SmartJacks supplemental support system. SmartJacks are a system of floor jacks hot-dipped in galvanized steel and zinc plated to promote durability. The base of each SmartJack is placed two feet beneath the surface to reduce load-bearing stress. Kalman loves his balanced den!
Brian was concerned with the heat in his home when he realized the floor under his feet was freezing cold. He couldn't stand having cold feet, so he called Ayers to find a solution. We sent our crew of specialists to his home to evaluate, and they recommended installing the CleanSpace vapor barrier. Brian's feet were cold due to vents allowing cold air into his home through the crawl space. CleanSpace fully encapsulates the crawl space walls and floors and is antimicrobial-lined to prevent moisture entry and mold growth. Brian can't believe how much warmer his feet are!
Jesse knew the floor in his living room was slanted, and he couldn't tolerate it any longer. After researching his options, he called Ayers for help, so we sent our crew of experts to his home. They evaluated the space and recommended installing the SmartJacks supplemental support system. SmartJacks are a system of floor jacks hot-dipped in galvanized steel and zinc-plated to promote durability. The base of each jack is placed two feet below the surface, which reduces load-bearing stress significantly. Jesse loves his level floor!
Robert noticed water running into his basement and pooling on his floor. He wasn't sure why this happened or how to fix the issue, so he called Ayers. We sent a team of specialists to his home to examine his basement and recommend a solution. They decided the TripleSafe sump pump would be the best course of action. TripleSafe contains three pumps to prevent failure, including a battery-powered backup in case of power outages. Robert is happy he found Ayers and got his problem fixed!
