We installed two of our patented products: the WaterGuard French drain system and the SaniDry XP standing dehumidifier. We began by installing the WaterGuard. The WaterGuard drain rests below the basement floor and above the foundation footing collecting water that seeps into the basement from the walls. Once this water is collected it is redistributed to the sump pump to be pumped up and out of the home. 

After that, we moved onto the SaniDry XP. This dehumidifier can collect up to 109 liters of water per day and is compact enough to be placed in a closet or corner of a room and not take up a large amount of space. The SaniDry XP will remove any lingering water vapor and keep the air free of moisture to attain the greatest level of comfort in your home. 

When Damian purchased his Westphalia, MI home, the previous owner told him that a French drain system had been installed in the basement not long before. Damian and his family were glad to hear that they didn’t have to worry about waterproofing and for two years that belief held up. Then one day in May, he went downstairs to find that the basement was soaked from rain the previous day. But as an improvement, the crew also installed 6 different inspection ports to make checking for plugging easier on Damian. To pump the water out in a more effective way, the crew also replaced the sump pump with a 1/3 horsepower Zoeller pump. After adding a trench drain in front of the steps that led to the basement, the crew connected it, the WaterGuard drainage system, and the new sump pump to a discharge line to lead the water to a safe distance from the house. Thanks to the quick action taken by Damian, his home was saved from what could have been a lengthy and expensive post-flood fix; and this time around, his waterproofing system comes with the Ayers stamp of approval.
