Gail lives out of town and is looking to remodel. Not happy when her contractor informed her about the foundation of her home cracking, she decided to contact Ayers Basement Systems to find the quickest solution. When our resident foreman Evan arrived on sight he was able to diagnose the issue and find a system that offered the most cost-effective and permanent solution.

Evan Used Helical Piers to correct the foundation of the home. He and his team installed the piers by digging the perimeter of the home and driving screw-shaped steel beams at an angle deep underneath the home, past the weak soil, and into firm ground. The tops of the piers are capped with concrete blocks that the entire home is placed on, creating a new foundation for the home to permanently rest. 

Ed contacted us to look at his crawl space and see what could be done with it. He was concerned about the dampness and musty smells but didn't know what the options to fix the issues were. We had just the solution for him! First we laid down Drainage Matting that has dimples in it which allow for the flow of water under the liner and directs the water to the sump pump system. We then installed TerraBlock Crawl Space Floor Insulation which includes a vapor barrier that keeps moisture from making its way up through dirt, stone, or concrete crawl space floors. On top of the TerraBlock, we installed the CleanSpace Liner. CleanSpace is a thick durable liner that prevents water vapor and humidity from passing through. It also protects your structure from mold and rot since it keeps the area dry. By sealing the crawl space, you also keep away odors and allergenic mold spores that would otherwise rise up through the floor and into your home. Lastly we installed SilverGlo Crawl Space Wall Insulation which reflects heat back into your crawl space for ultimate energy savings.

We installed the dynamic duo of waterproofing solutions: the TripleSafe sump pump system and the WaterGuard French drain system. The TripleSafe is a sump pump that provides three levels of protection against water leakage. Whether it be normal water supply, heavy volumes of water, or in the case of a power outage, this sump pump will keep your basement dry. For normal water supply, the Zoeller ⅓ horsepower pump functions. At a heavier level, the Zoeller ½ horsepower pump activates. In the case of a power outage, the UltraSump backup sump pump will pump water on a backup battery.

The WaterGuard French drain rests below the basement floor but above the foundation footing, collecting water that enters the basement from the walls. After this water is collected it is redirected to the TripleSafe sump pump to be pumped up and out of the home.
