Often times crawl spaces can be very damp, musty, or even flooded. While this crawl space was slightly damp, there were really no major repairs that had to be made. However, the owners of the home still wanted to encapsulate it to prevent any future problems and transform their crawl space into a more usable space. Installing a CleanSpace liner in the crawl space of this home not only provides barrier from any water vapor from the ground or walls, but also enhances the look of the space. The liner is bright white, and since its so durable, fixing it to the walls ensures it will stay exactly where it was installed. Its multiple layers makes it flexible and tear resistant, so it can be walked on, making the area clean and usable.

Doris has lived in her home for nearly 20 years and has never stepped foot in her crawl space, likely because animals had made their way in there several times—yikes! The best solution to keep water out of the crawl space and seal off the home from critters was CleanSpace.

This Spring Lake, MI, homeowner was dealing with a frustrating and unsettling problem: their crawl space wasn’t just damp—it was attracting critters that made their way into the home. Concerned about the potential damage and health risks, they turned to Ayers for a long-term solution.
System Design Specialist Camden G. assessed the situation and recommended a full encapsulation to address the moisture and unwelcome visitors. Our crew began by installing durable drainage matting to direct any water toward a SmartDrain system, ensuring proper handling of potential water intrusion. Next, we encapsulated the crawl space with our CleanSpace liner, a tough, anti-microbial barrier designed to seal out moisture and create a clean, dry environment.
With the encapsulation complete, the homeowner now has peace of mind. Their crawl space is dry, secure, and free from critters. It’s no longer a source of worry but a clean, protected space they can confidently use for additional storage if needed.
Jim noticed his stone basement walls had large, deep cracks in them. The cracks allowed moisture entry, and he couldn't tolerate it anymore, so he called Ayers for help. We sent a team of professionals to his home to examine the space and see what we could do. They suggested Shotcrete, a solution that applies a concrete or mortar wet spray through a high-pressure hose to fill a form or repair damaged surfaces. Jim loves his new walls!
Billie A. was experiencing wall failure in his home. His basement walls were made of cement block and had horizontal and vertical cracks. Billie’s walls were also bowing at the center. Our team of experts decided to install a combination of two products. We installed our CarbonArmor System and the PowerBrace System. CarbonArmor is ideal for bowing walls because its flexible design contour tightly to the wall. The CarbonArmor straps are 10x stronger than steel and have a low profile design that can be installed in tight spaces. The PowerBrace is designed to support your basement walls and it has a patented tightening system that allows for your walls to be straightened over time. The zinc coated beams are a nontoxic surface that makes the entire system resistant to abrasion and corrosion.
These customers had just moved into their house when they realized their crawl space had extremely high humidity levels and a strong musty smell. There was no sign of standing water, water damage or cracks in the space, but the inspector for the home recommended a vapor barrier to officially solve the issue.
We used the effective CleanSpace liner to seal off the crawl space from unwanted moisture and water vapor. The liner was waterproof and vapor proof to prevent water from getting in through leaks or through evaporation. The liner was installed on the floor and walls of the space and was securely fastened into place. The durable material ensured the liner would not become damaged over time and would provide the homeowners long lasting protection.
Cathy G. of Spring Lake, MI has a crawl space that would send a horrible smell all over the 1st floor of the house when the heat was turned on. It smelled musty and moldy even though she already had mold abatement done in the crawl space. The crawl space had a dirt floor with no insulation. So, Cathy gave us a call.
We installed our patented CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system to remedy this issue. CleanSpace is a 20mm thick plastic lining that completely seals the crawl space. No cold air, dirt, water, or moisture will be able to get through this beast of a system. And as an added bonus, CleanSpace is made with anti-microbial components that prevent mold growth.
No more moldy, musty smell with this system in place.
Mark H. of Spring Lake, MI was suffering from something worse than a cold -- a moist, musty, crawl space. She already had another company install vapor barrier, but it was just not doing the job. Thus, she gave us a call.
We installed our patented CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system. CleanSpace is a 20mm thick plastic lining that completely seals off the crawl space from the surrounding elements. No cold air, water, dirt, or moisture will be able to pass through this stuff. And as an added bonus, CleanSpace is developed with anti-microbial components that prevent mold growth.
Craig B. had water coming through the bottom 2 rows of blocks in his basement. It happened for the first time last summer, and then would happen after a big rain or snow melt. Craig tried some waterproofing on his own, but it didn't do much. This said, we called us for a professional fix.
Our solution? The SuperSump premier sump pump system and the WaterGuard French drain system. We began by installing the SuperSump; the SuperSump is a sump pump specifically designed to keep your basement dry for long periods of time. Capable of pumping 2,220 gallons of water per hour, it is suitable for heavy water intrusion.
After that was installed, we put in the WaterGuard French drain system. WaterGuard sits below the basement floor and above the foundation footing, collecting water that enters into the basement through the walls. Once this water is collected it is directed to the sump pump -- the SuperSump, in this case -- to be pumped up and out of the home.
Melissa and Roman W. of Spring Lake, MI had just moved into their home a week ago when they called us. There was no standing water or signs of water damage or cracks in their crawl space, but there was a high level of humidity and a very strong smell. Melissa said they ran a dehumidifier all the time and it filled up quickly. This said, they reached out to us for a solution that would last.

This means no moisture, and no yucky smells.
Dale and Susan C. of Spring Lake, MI had some structural issues before they called us. Their west wall has stair step cracks on both the north and south sides and the floor joists rest on that wall. With this being said, a solution needed to be found.
Our fix? The PowerBrace foundation wall repair system. PowerBrace is made of steel I-beams that secure to the floor joists above the wall to offer maximum support. This system is a great solution for buckling, tilting, or bowing foundation walls when you don't want any exterior excavation.
Glenn called when most of the insulation in his crawl space had begun falling down. Fiberglass insulation is common in crawl spaces but is also a bad idea - it soaks up ambient moisture and then falls, leaving the crawl space unprotected. It also harbors mold via its paper backing.
We installed SilverGlo insulation panels, which are inorganic and waterproof, guaranteeing reliable insulation without mold problems, and sealed any gaps with FrothPak spray insulation.
When we received a call from Greg, the realtor of a Spring Lake, MI home, he was in desperate need of help. He was eager to sell the home that he was representing for his company, but during his inspection, he discovered a few problems with both the crawl space and basement. Before hiring Greg, the previous owners had tried to repair it themselves but were unsuccessful. The block walls in both areas had large horizontal cracking running across the center and had shifted inward a full inch. The inward shift was caused by groundwater putting pressure on the walls. Not only had it caused the walls to bow, the groundwater was also seeping in and threatening the crawl space. With no time left to wait for repairs to be made to the crawl space, Greg gave us a call for a permanent solution before the home was sold.
The biggest concern for the crew was installing a product that would stop the bowing walls. Bowing walls can threaten the entire foundational integrity and could cause the walls to completely collapse. To solve the problem, our crew used one of our most innovative systems: the Carbon Armor system. It’s the same product used to reinforce bridges and bomb shelters. The Carbon Armor straps were attached to the wall with a sticky epoxy that will eliminate the horizontal crack on the basement walls. Once the basement walls were repaired, the crew moved on to the crawl space. Using the CleanSpace vapor system they were able to prevent water from passing through either the dirt floor or cracked crawl space walls. Greg's crawl space and basement are both fully protected.
