This home in Vermontville, MI has a dirt floor crawl space that was an addition built underneath a porch. The homeowners contacted us looking to insulate and encapsulate the area. Both of these are very beneficial to the home to keeping the home comfortable year-round—with encapsulation providing a vapor barrier and insulation to prevent mold and moisture problems.

SilverGlo insulation was installed in this crawl space to provide a radiant barrier. Made with tiny graphite particles that reflect heat, this lowers the material's conductivity, reflecting heat back into the space. This not only keeps the cold out of the space, but also maximizes energy savings.

After our team insulated the crawl space, we installed a CleanSpace liner across the floor. Since the liner is 20mil thick made from many layers of polyester cord reinforcement, it’s durable and can be walked on. Installing CleanSpace provides a barrier for water vapor, and its antimicrobial additive prevents mold growth.

The customer called us in dire need of a solution for his leaking basement walls. Heavy rains and outside water pressure had made the problem worse.

We installed WaterGuard® in the entire basement to collect seeping water from their basement walls and drain it into the sump pump. As an added measure, we installed a TrenchDrain™ to catch water that may enter the basement from an outside entryway as well as prevent freezing in the winter. 

The customer also opted to install our new ThermalDry Elite Plank flooring with a beautiful walnut finish in their newly waterproofed basement. Our flooring is inorganic and waterproof, which means you don’t need to worry about your floor harboring mold.

WaterGuard rests below the basement floor and above the foundation footing, collecting water that seeps into the basement from the walls. Once this water is collected it is redirected to the sump pump to be pumped up and out of the home.

They had an issue mainly when it rained heavily. They have a block basement that did not have a sump pump, and the basement was not finished due to leaks.

Our solution? WaterGuard, the TripleSafe, and the SaniDry XP. The TripleSafe sump pump system was installed first. The TripleSafe is a sump pump that provides three levels of protection against water leakage. Whether it be normal water supply, heavy volumes of water, or in the case of a power outage, this sump pump will keep your basement dry. For normal water supply, the Zoeller ⅓ horsepower pump functions. At a heavier level, the Zoeller ½ horsepower pump activates. In the case of a power outage, the UltraSump backup sump pump will pump water on a backup battery.

After that was installed we moved onto the WaterGuard French drain system. WaterGuard rests below the basement floor and above the foundation footing collecting water that seeps into the basement from the exterior. Once that water is collected, it is redirected to the sump pump. The WaterGuard system works perfectly with the TripleSafe, in this case. 

To finish this project, we installed the SaniDry XP standing dehumidifier. This beast can collect up to 109 liters of water per day, keeping the air moisture-free. This is the perfect finished touch.
