After intermittent water issues in the crawl space - regularly occurring but usually negligible amounts of water - our customer looked into his crawl space to find four inches of standing water.
We drained the water (the before picture is the immediate aftermath, where everything is still nice and soggy) and installed a Smart Sump to help with any future water accumulation, before encapsulating the crawl space with the CleanSpace vapor barrier system and drainage matting.

The problems with this sump pump system began back in the spring when it was installed as a replacement. The owner was hoping that a new system would be the end of his crawl space troubles, but the sump continued to run after it had pumped all the water out. When the owner had someone come out to repair the pump, it resulted in the before photo. Not only did the pump and liner come out of the original hole, the discharge line was also broken and sprayed water all over the pea stone ground. After the failure of a second sump pump system, the owner wanted a trusted system he could depend on and began researching sumps. When he found our sealed crock systems with backup pumps, he knew that his search had come to an end. The pump he chose to use in the after photo is our TripleSafe system with a twist. Instead of 3 pumps in the sump, the owner elected to remove the secondary ½ horsepower pump but kept the additional battery powered pump in case of power outages. This crawl space won’t have to worry about sump pump failure again.

This homeowner called looking to improve their crawl space, having it sealed and winterized. Having a crawl space that has dirt flooring and insulation hanging from the rafters is no happy crawl space. Our magnificent CleanSpace material was placed throughout the crawl space, applying it on the floors and walls. This material provides a durable vapor barrier that keeps moisture and humidity out and prevents any development of mold. The CleanSpace spruced up this crawl space in its super bright white layers, making this crawl space a safe and beautiful sight to see.

Jill noticed that the bricks making up her garage had begun to crack. Not knowing how to repair the unsightly cracks herself, she contacted Ayers. Our resident foreman Blade was able to inspect the area and noticed the walls were sliding. To fix the problem Blade installed a set of Push Piers.
Push Pier: Soil from around the foundational footing is removed and a special bracket is placed under the footing. Metal beams are hydraulically driven through the bracket and into the ground till it hits bedrock. The weight of the home is then transferred to the bracket, supported by the piers in the ground. The soil is replaced, creating a new foundation for the home to rest upon.
This homeowner called us because he was looking to update and clean out his dirt base crawl space.
We first decided to install the durable CleanSpace liner that encapsulated the walls and floors of the space. The liner was waterproof and vapor proof, which ensured moisture was unable to enter the space. The liner also created a barrier between the crawl space and the outside environment, which kept out dirt, debris, bugs and critters. We also used FrothPak spray foam to insulate the crawl space walls. This insulation is different form traditional fiberglass insulation because it doesn’t absorb ambient moisture and will not lead to mold growth due to its inorganic makeup.
Alex had been dealing with some sump pump issues in his crawl space for almost a half year now. The sump he had in place at the start of spring stopped working, so he had it replaced. Unfortunately, the new pump wasn’t the answer to his problems, either. It would continue to run even when all the water was out of the crawl space. When the plumber who installed it tried to repair the problem, it ended with part of the sump's liner above Alex’s pea stone ground and a broken discharge. After doing some research into our systems, Alex started to love the idea of backup pumps and decided an Ayers sump pump installation was exactly what he needed.
After meeting with a system design specialist and going over each sump pump system individually, Alex decided on the TripleSafe sump with a slight adjustment. The TripleSafe is named for its 1/3 horsepower pump and two backups. Alex chose to leave out the standard secondary ½ horsepower pump and only have the battery backup installed. This way the sump pump will continue to work during power outages, and with a primary pump capable of pushing out over 2,000 gallons of water per hour, he won’t have much to worry about in the crawl space anyway. When the liner of the old sump pump came out, it resulted in water pouring all over the crawl space. So it made perfect sense that Alex liked the sealed crocks on our sump pump systems that hold water and pump in place. We’re happy we could finally give Alex the sump pump protection he needed.
