Beaverton, MI Skilled Basement Waterproofing & Concrete Leveling

Charlie Z. from Beaverton, MI had water seeping into his basement from the walls before he reached out to us. There so was much standing water in his basement at one point that he had to have the carpet pulled up. This is a serious issue. We had a solution, though.

Ayers installed two patented waterproofing products: the WaterGuard French drain system and the SuperSump premier sump pump system. the WaterGuard drain is placed below the basement floor but just on top of the foundation footing, and collects all the water that leaks into the basement from the walls. Once this water is in the drain, it is redirected to the sump pump – the SuperSump, in this case – to be pumped up and out of the home.

The SuperSump is a sump pump specifically designed to keep your basement dry for long periods of time. Capable of pumping 2,220 gallons of water per hour, it is suitable for heavy water intrusion.

These two installments now allow Charlie to live comfortably in his home knowing his basement is finally dry. 

This Beaverton, MI home had bowed and tipping block walls with several cracks. The homeowners believed the issue began because of the oak trees they had removed the previous year.

Our team of experts wanted to install the PowerBrace and Wall Anchor systems to ensure the walls were permanently stable for years to come. The PowerBrace system used steel I-Beams that were attached to the base of the wall and to the joists above. We made sure to reinforce the joists to take some of the pressure off the wall to prevent it from shifting any further. The PowerBraces, similar to orthodontic braces, held the wall in place and can be tightened over time to shift the wall to its correct position. The Geo-Lock wall anchor system used specialized steel anchors to prevent the walls from tipping or bowing. Earth anchors were first placed into stable soil outside of the failing foundation wall. The anchors were then connected to the wall with steel wall anchors and tightened into place with steel rods. The system completely anchored the wall to prevent it from shifting any further.

Steve and Sue B. contacted us because they needed the crawl space in their home insulated and encapsulated with a vapor barrier to prevent moisture from entering the space. 

To insulate the crawl space we installed TerraBlock and SilverGlo. TerraBlock was used to insulate the floor in the space and has an exterior vapor barrier on both sides to prevent moisture from entering through the exposed dirt ground. SilverGlo was used to insulate the walls and prevent moisture from intruding the space. SilverGlo has tiny graphite materials in it that reflect heat back into the space for top-notch insulation and energy savings. It also serves as a vapor barrier to prevent moisture from entering through the porous concrete walls. 

To further seal the crawl space off from unwanted dirt, pests and moisture, we installed the CleanSpace liner. This waterproof and vapor proof liner protects the space from any type of water leakage and has an antimicrobial additive that prevents mold growth. The white color brightens the space and creates a clean atmosphere that will surely benefit the homeowners. The liner was sized and cut to fit the crawl space dimensions, laid out to cover the floor and the bottom half of the walls and securely fastened to prevent it from falling down.
