Quincy, MI Basement Transformation: Moisture Control with CleanSpace Quincy, MI Basement Transformation: Moisture Control with CleanSpace

This Quincy, MI, homeowner had battled basement moisture and water intrusion in his 1940s home for 35 years. The cold, damp basement made the home uncomfortable, and over time, the problem worsened. Ready for a permanent basement waterproofing solution, he contacted Ayers. Our team installed the CleanSpace wall system to encapsulate the leaky fieldstone walls, sealing out moisture. To further protect the basement, we added a WaterGuard drainage system to funnel any incoming water into a SuperSump Plus pump, safely directing it away from the home. A SaniDry dehumidifier was also installed to control basement humidity and ensure a dry, usable space. The homeowner was thrilled to have his long-standing wet basement issue resolved, and his home is now secure from future water damage and mold.

Permanant Peace of Mind for Quincy Home

The owners of this Quincy home had struggled with water intrusion for nearly 35 years. Built in the 1940s, their home’s fieldstone foundation needed a serious solution to keep the basement dry and the structure secure. Wanting a long-term fix, they called Ayers.

System Design Specialist Dan B. recommended a comprehensive approach. CleanSpace would brighten the basement and contain moisture, while a perimeter WaterGuard system would direct water to a TripleSafe sump pump, which would expel it safely. Finally, a SaniDry XP dehumidifier would manage any residual humidity.

The crew installed the systems, carefully trenching for WaterGuard, applying CleanSpace, and setting up the TripleSafe sump pump as the system’s backbone. Now, the homeowners have a bright, dry basement and peace of mind, knowing their nearly 40-year water issue is finally under control.

Quincy, MI Home Has WaterGuard Installed for Wet Basement

John N. of Quincy, MI had a bad leak in his basement. There was a crack in the wall that was allowing for water to leak in and make his basement wet.

Our fix? The WaterGuard French drain system. WaterGuard rests below the basement floor and above the foundation footing, collecting the water that seeps into the basement from the exterior. After the water is collected, it is then redirected to the basement's sump pump.

Leaky basement? Please.

Slab Piers Provide Extra Support for Quincy, MI Garage Floor

When Jerry’s garage was first built, the contractors pretty much did it by the book. They placed support pilings underneath the perimeter of the foundation and expected them to stabilize the structure. Unfortunately, Mother Nature and gravity had other plans. The foundation was holding together fine, but after some time passed, other problems started to show - primarily, the unsupported middle of the garage was sinking. Jerry was certain that he could repair it himself and got right to work, removing the garage floor to better analyze the problem. With the floor gone, he could see exactly what happened. The soil had indeed settled and even left a 3-foot drop between it and where the concrete floor had originally been. Jerry’s plan was to just replace the slab, but with the floor removed, he could see that he needed a solution that would address the root problem.

Our system design specialist took a trip out to Quincy, MI to explain the different options. Since he planned on pouring the floor himself, all Jerry needed from us was a stable support system for the future slab. The design specialist suggested our Slab Pier System. Slab piers are capable of stabilizing and lifting settled slabs from underneath, so they were perfect for Jerry’s situation. Since the design specialist had already determined the pier placement that would best support the floor, the crew’s first step was forcing the 3 piers into deep, dependable soil. They then raised the piers to a leveled height and backfilled the voids caused by driving in the piers. With the piers in place, Jerry now has the all the support he needs for a new slab. Once he pours in the concrete, his garage will be better than ever.

ASAP. I'm under contract to purchase this lake home and have three days left for inspection. In 1995 the house was raised 1" due to settled foundation ... Homeowner did work from inside home and hydraulic Jack's and installed 48" cement footings extending slightly outside home exterior. Issues: house 15' from a 5' wide / 35' oak tree approx 500 years old. The owner thinks issue was from the boiler pipe bursting and owner was in Florida for month ... Water ran for entire month in basement. Only issues appear to be present: pulled carpet up and cement has some spider cracks, but very little settling since 1995 repair (maybe 1/4" or less). Also brick covering had crack repair with epoxy. Would not mind second opinion.
