This block wall crawl space allowed water to leak in, causing problems for the homeowner. There were two sump pumps and a dehumidifier in the crawl space, but water was still an issue. To update this space and eliminate water, we installed CleanSpace, drainage matting, a SmartSump, and the IceGuard system.
For the first part of this project, we installed drainage matting on the floor of the crawl space. This matting has a dimpled surface that helps water on the floor easily make its way to the sump pump. The matting was sized and cut for the crawl space and was put in place before the CleanSpace liner was installed.
Next, we installed the CleanSpace liner that is used to encapsulate the crawl space with its waterproof and vapor-proof material. The liner was sized to fit the dimensions of the space and was installed on the floors and walls. The system was securely attached to the walls, keeping it in place, and the material is extremely durable to protect it from any type of damage. This liner was used to keep water or moisture from coming in through the ground or block walls.
To update the ineffective sump pumps in the space, we installed one powerful SmartSump sump pump. A SmartSump is designed for crawl spaces and provides the homeowner with full protection from water. The system has a sturdy liner that collects water and a cast-iron Zoeller pump to effectively pump water out of the space.
To combat potential frozen pipes, we installed the IceGuard system. We installed this on the home’s discharge line to help water from the sump pump immediately exit the home through specially designed holes, even if the pipe is frozen. This will prevent the water from re-entering the home and causing a flood or large leak.
Ryan J. now has a dry crawl space that is protected from any type of water leakage.
