Our customer called with multiple cracks in his basement wall. There wasn't much water coming in, but there was some - and that's the right time to fix the crack. Otherwise, water will degrade the concrete as it continues to leak in, further widening the crack and letting even more water in, and so on and so forth.

We used FlexiSpan to seal the crack; FlexiSpan is a flexible sealant that moves with the crack as the wall naturally shifts, keeping it sealed. A small drain in the concrete below the crack keeps water directed away from the basement floor, and the basement stays dry.

Jeff was looking to get better support structure posts in his crawl space to help support his home better, so he called up Ayers. After we conducted a free inspection at his home to pinpoint the best solution, it was decided he could use SmartJacks. This is a supplemental support system built for crawl space applications and made of steel columns that will support her failing support structures. This will lift the home back to its original position and ensure the home's weight is supported and stabilized. This also consists of a sturdy base installed in the ground and attached are these strong, steel columns that extend to maximize support. Jeff was glad he got a professional fix that will keep his home and family safe!

Sealing a Leaking Wall in Hersey, MI

June found herself in a sticky situation when one of her basement walls started pouring water. The problem? There were no plumbing pipes on that wall, so she didn't know where the water was coming from or how it was getting inside.

She'd had a new breaker box installed last year, and the stone wall had never been properly sealed around the installation. This is bad enough, but when you take into account that water was running in over the electrical panel? Bad news.

We used Sentry Seal, a powerful membrane used on the exterior of a building for waterproofing, on the outside of the foundation to protect against incoming water. We then used tuckpointing to seal the area around the breaker box inside the basement. Now the basement is dry and free from electrocution risk.

Waterproofing a Slab Foundation in Hersey, MI

Our customer called with a need for waterproofing, but no basement or crawl space. His home was on a slab foundation, and there was water accumulating at the floor/wall joint in a few different areas of the home.

We used a curtain drain system around the perimeter of the house to collect the water and send it to a discharge line, which we extended a full 90 feet to the top of the hill on the property and ended in a Lawnscape outlet, which allows us to bury the line but still discharge water without risk of clogs. This improves not only the aesthetics of the property (imagine looking at a 90 foot discharge line every day) but also eliminates the line as a trip hazard or landscaping obstacle.
