Lighting Up a Granger, IN Finished Basement

A finished basement deserves a finished look. The old, rusted metal window well that was attached to this basement was anything but that. It’s a bit of an eye sore on the outside, and from the inside perspective, the window was failing to at its one job – letting light in. Small rectangular windows don’t allow for much light in the first place, couple that with half the window being buried below ground, and it’s no wonder that the window was struggling. So when these Granger, IN customers called asking about a replacement window for their finished basement, we sent a system design specialist out to explain our egress window systems. Instead of the metal well used in the before photo, the crew installed one of our plastic EverLast wells because the plastic material won’t rust away from water. Another great perk is the size of the well and window much bigger, meaning more sunlight can enter the basement and the lid will actually fit this time around.

Elizabeth K. contacted us because they wanted to take a small window in their basement and remove it to install a large egress window. This home was built in the 90's when egress windows weren't required but now you must have one in every room in the basement that is liveable. The window must also be large enough for a person to escape in case of an emergency. We were able to remove the small window and install this large 4' X 4' egress in this basement so now the family can be relieved knowing that there is an escape route in case ever needed.

Our Customer Elizabeth K. wanted to replace her submarine like basement window. Unfortunately, customers often don’t realize that basement companies should be installing any basement windows. Ayers has the knowledge and expertise to make sure your windows are secured and sealed and will not allow water to leak into your home. In addition, egress windows allow for an additional exit out of your basement, that you can actually fit through,  in the case of an emergency.

Raising Slanted Floor in Granger, IN, Home with SmartJacks

Randy noticed the slant in his living room floor was deepening and wasn't sure how to fix it. After researching his options, he called Ayers for help, and we sent our specialists to his home. After evaluating the space, they recommended installing the SmartJacks supplemental support system. SmartJacks are floor jacks built to last, hot-dipped in galvanized steel, and zinc-plated. Each base is also implanted two feet below the surface to reduce load-bearing stress. Randy loves the new feel of his living room!

Inadequate Concrete Steps Leading up to Granger, IN Home

A customer from Granger, Indiana had some unlevel steps leading to her front door that she wanted to fix. She knew that we were the right people for the job so she gave us a call. We drove to her property and decided that PolyLevel would be perfect for her home. PolyLevel worked to raise and level out the concrete slabs while dealing with the weak soils below that were no longer able to hold the weight of the home above. We drilled multiple small holes into the concrete slabs in order to inject them with a polymer material that expanded to lift and level out the concrete. Once injected, the system only needed about 15 minutes to fully cure and the slabs were then stabilized and lifted to their proper level, and stronger than ever before. Now, this homeowner will not have to worry about this ever again.

Basement Window Replacement in Granger

Our customer had a leaking basement window. Unfortunately, the window well would fill up with water, leak into the basement, and then water builds up in the basement. We installed our egress basement window. Egress windows are sealed keeping moisture and water out. The windows are energy efficient and resistant to rot and mildew.

Fully Waterproofing a Granger, IN Basement

Brian and Carla recently noticed their poured concrete foundation was letting water into the basement. The problem would typically show up after long rains. One of the bright spots was that the water only showed up in the half of the basement that was unfinished. So when our system design specialist visited Brian and Carla, he proposed a solution that would waterproof only the affected area. The crew laid a perimeter drainage system, WaterGuard, around the half side of the leaking basement. With a drainage system to catch any water that flowed through the foundation in place, they moved onto installing a sump pump system. The SuperSump is one of our more powerful sumps and is capable of pushing out over 2,000 gallons of water per hour. The water then travels through the sump discharge line to a lawnscape outlet in the yard. Along the way, the water will pass by an IceGuard protective shield that will expel the water if the lines freeze over. Brian and Carla now have a fully protected basement.
