Professional Basement Waterproofing & Foundation Repair in Gobles, MI

Jennifer is very sensitive to smells and the musty smell wafting through her vents was enough to tell her there was a problem. She did some research and called Ayers to learn about our waterproofing solutions. We sent a team of experts to her home, and they evaluated the situation and recommended installing CleanSpace. Vapor Barriers are designed to eliminate moisture and CleanSpace is an antimicrobial-lined material that prevents both moisture entry and mold growth. Jennifer is relieved the smell is gone!

David was looking into getting some waterproofing products from Ayers to ensure his home remained dry and protected! He made the call and our customer care team set up a time for a free inspection of his home. After this inspection our System Design Specialists were able to determine he could use our SmartSump, IceGuard, and LawnScape Outlet.

SmartSump is designed for crawl spaces and is a horsepower pump that can remove 2500 gallons of water per hour at a 4 foot head. This will take care of any water seeping in. Then with IceGuard this is attached to the exterior drainage line to prevent them from freezing or clogging in cold weather. The slotted openings will allow water to eject, preventing these pesky issues. Lastly we added LawnScape Outlet to the end of this line to enable downspout water to escape through this underground extension.

David was grateful to have these waterproofing systems added to protect his home and keep his belongings dry!

Paula and John M. called because one of the walls in their basement had both stair-step and horizontal cracks and was bowing inward. The problem had been worsening over time and they were ready for a solution that would permanently fix their failing foundation wall.

To stabilize the wall and prevent it from cracking or shifting any further, we installed the Geo-Lock wall anchor system. This system used steel earth anchors that were placed deep in the ground in stable soil outside of the foundation wall. The earth anchors were then connected to the wall with an interior wall anchor and secured with steel rods. The system was then tightened into place and the wall was stabilized. Although this installation required outside excavation, we still tried to limit the amount of disruption to the home and the landscaping outside was backfilled when we were finished.

Cathy and Jeff G. called because their block basement wall was bowing and had a large crack in the center. They had lived in the home for 30 years, and had some repairs done in the past but the crack continued to grow in size. There was no water seepage due to a sump pump that was located directly next to the leaking wall, but these homeowners wanted to effectively fix their failing wall once and for all.

To repair the failing wall we installed the PowerBrace system. To begin the installation we sized steel I-beams to fit the height of the basement and then secured them to the base of the wall at the floor and to the joists above the wall using powerful steel brackets. After the system was tightened into place, the wall was immediately stabilized and able to be tightened over time to potentially shift the wall back to its original position. 

Our customer called us because a horizontal crack in their basement wall was enlarging, and the wall had started bowing. There was no water coming through the crack, but they were concerned about the safety of the bowing wall.

After our inspection, in which we decided PowerBraces were needed to stabilize and straighten the wall, they decided to hold off because the house was up for sale and they were sure they could get the buyer to pay for the repair.

Well, we heard from them about six months later, when the bowing wall was holding up the sale of their home. We installed the PowerBraces and, over time, will hopefully be able to tighten them in order to straighten the wall.

Our customer called with a different type of water issue. His cottage sat lower than the surrounding driveway, and when it rained or snow thawed, all of the water was directed right to the laundry room.

This was one instance where installing a perimeter waterproofing system in the affected room was not the solution. Instead, we installed a curtain drain along the perimeter of the home between the house and the driveway. We also installed a TrenchDrain system at the most severe water points. These two systems will work in conjunction to catch and funnel the water to a different discharge point before it can enter the home.
