Barry was having trouble with mold and cold temperatures in his crawl space. Our team came out and installed CleanSpace. CleanSpace is plastic sheet material used as a vapor barrier to restrict all moisture, outside air, and pests from entering your crawl space. Not only does this system create an energy-efficient crawl space, but it also gives your crawl space a clean finish. This material will be applied to your floors and walls to create a sleek look and an uninterrupted barrier. Therefore, this system is perfect for Barry because it will restrict air movement, keeping his crawl space at a normal temperature while saving Barry money on his energy bills.
Jeff’s foundation was experiencing some settling. Sometimes after homes are built they can experience foundation settling if the soil under them expands and contracts substantially with weather conditions. This can cause a plethora of foundation problems including cracking and bowing walls, foundation shrinkage or expansion, and water in the basement. Helical Piers stabilize settling foundations by connecting the foundation of a home to load-bearing soil by drilling long piers into the ground under a home. The permanent solution is less invasive than it sounds and lasts a lifetime or more. Once the soil is replaced no one will even know the piers are there and with the Helical Piers, Jeff's home will be stable and secure for years to come.
Adriana's floors above the crawl space are sagging and the cinder block support in the crawl space are sinking into the ground. We used the SmartJack Crawl Space Support System to provide a stable support for the sagging floors. This system restores stability to the floors and lifts them back up to the correct level. This system also ensures that your crawl space won't sink and the home has a long lasting solution.
Kareen had water that was coming into her basement as it trickled down the walls and entered where the floor met the walls. Her basement is partially finished and she already has an existing sump pump but the water was not making it to the pump to be expelled outside of the home. We found that the reason for the water entering through the wall was due to some cracks but we had a solution to keep her basement dry and maintained. We started with the PowerBrace Foundation Wall Repair System to stabilize the wall and keep the cracks from getting bigger. This system helps to straighten the wall as well so the water can not leak through it. We also installed the WaterGuard system which is a below floor perimeter drain that collects water that seeps in and sends it to the sump pump. It keeps the water out and the basement dry so that the finishings won't be ruined and the the homeowner can enjoy the space!
Paul and his partner want to enjoy their home but feel continually at risk. They can tell the floor is weak and fear that it could give way at any moment. After contacting Ayers, our foreman Evan was able to perform a much-needed inspection.
After listening to the couple's concerns, Even decided that the crawlspace needed supplemental support. Even and his team used SmartJack piers to preform this task.
SmartJack piers are metal beams placed strategically along the structure's supportive rim joist. The bottoms are anchored into the ground with poured concrete while the tops are capped with load-bearing joints that are attached to the rim joist. The entire pier's height is adjusted till there is constant pressure being applied, reintroducing support to the entire framework.
Scott and Tracey had their egress window destroyed by their landscapers last year. They damaged the well and broke the actual window itself. Scott’s father passed away last year and many of his belongings are in the basement, getting wet. They called Ayers for an inspection and our crew noticed that there was active water intrusion from the broken window. Some of their belongings had started to mold.
The couple would need us to install a brand new egress window. Our egress windows bring safety and beauty in one. Building codes require that basement living spaces must have a large enough window to safely evacuate in case of emergency. Our windows have built-in steps and durable covers that hold up to 500 pounds.
Scott and Tracy were so thankful to Ayers for being able to fix this issue and keep their important family mementos safe and protected for years to come.
Roseanne's basement has a block foundation with paneling on the walls. Water damage had caused one section of the wall to begin crumbing onto the floor from behind the paneling. She called Ayers Basement Systems for an inspection and our crew determined that Roseanne would need WaterGuard and a TripleSafe sump pump with IceGuard and an exterior discharge line to waterproof her basement and prevent further damage.
WaterGuard is a sub-floor waterproofing system that collects water that leaks through the walls and keeps dirt away from the foundation. It is installed along the perimeter of the basement and on top of the footing of the foundation. Concrete is poured on top and regular flooring can be placed on top. The TripleSafe sump pump system utilizes three pumps to remove excess water from the basement. The second and third pumps are in case of emergencies so the basement can remain dry, even when the power goes out. IceGuard is a simple addition to your already existing sump pump. It allows water to escape when the discharge line is frozen and prevents your basement flooding in cold weather. IceGuard is completely automatic, meaning after the initial installation, it’s done. Finally, an exterior discharge line is a drain installed leading to the low point of the property, sending water away from the home. Since the system is inside, there’s no dirt to clog it up and water is discharged effectively via the sump pump.
Roseanne was thrilled with the work done by Ayers and the professionalism of the crew. She was so excited to get her peace of mind back regarding her home. It was great feeling like she was safe and sound again in her own home now that the foundation wouldn’t continue to crumble.
Edward was looking to insulate his crawl space after he noticed a musty smell was developing. He called Ayers so our System Design Specialists could take a look at these issues. After inspection it was determined he would need our CleanSpace solution along with our Drainage Matting.
CleanSpace is a durable, thick, plastic liner that encapsulates your crawl space area to protect against excess moisture. The vapor barrier property it utilizes, adds extra protection against mold or bacteria development. This barrier between your crawl space and the ground will protect your home above it. Drainage Matting was installed before CleanSpace because this raised dimpled mat will catch any water and direct it to your drainage system. Basically this gives the water flooding in your basement a channel underneath your crawl space liner.
Edward was thrilled to have a system installed that will protect his crawl space against excess water and moisture!
Jennifer was looking to have an Egress Window installed since she was looking to complete her finished basement with a bigger window so her daughter could set up her room down there. She realized Ayers sells Egress Windows so Jennifer gave us a call so we could get started on the installation.
The huge benefit of Egress Windows being they are larger and allow for a safe exit in emergency situations which is especially important if someone will be living down there. With her daughter wanting to have her own space, this window will open up her room and make it more inviting. More natural light and fresh air will fill the room. These windows are waterproof as well so they won't have to worry about water leaking in during heavy rainfalls.
Jennifer was happy to fully complete the basement with these larger windows that will make her daughter's living space more inviting now!
Darlene was hoping to get the small cracks in her wall sealed up because water and moisture was leaking from these areas. She called up Ayers for professional help and after our System Design Specialists took a look it was decided she needed our FlexiSpan solution.
With FlexiSpan this will treat the small cracks without Darlene needing a full remodel. First the cracks are filled with a flexible sealant then another drainage layer was added so if the water permeated the membrane it would be directed down the original wall out of sight. The water would then enter the drainage system we installed below the wall and concrete was poured over to conceal it. Essentially this two-layer crack repair system plugs both the crack and creates a drainage route for the leaking water.
Now Darlene won't have to worry about her belongings getting soaked from these irritating wall leaks!
Frank was concerned when her first-level floors began to slop so she contacted Ayers Basement for an inspection. Upon arrival, our foreman Bruce was able to diagnose the issue, telling Janet that her foundation has begun to settle.
Bruce prescribed a set of SmartJack piers that would reinforce the Supportworks. The ground surrounding the foundation became unfirm due to the amount of water collecting around the base of the home. To correct this issue Bruce installed a TripleSafe sump pump, with three levels of protection against floods, to help control the amount of water around the home. Finally, he fitted the home with an IceGuard modification to ensure the pipes flow regularly, year-round, and a CleanSpace lining to protect the home.
Carole had some water coming in through one of her concrete walls in the basement. It was just enough water to where she would need a towel and fan to clean it up. Tired of having to worry about this issue herself, she decided to call Ayers for a professional fix. From the inspection we conducted at her home, it was decided she could use our FlexiSpan solution. FlexiSpan will provide the best fix for her situation because this is a two-layer system that utilizes a flexible sealant to hold the crack together as well as drain and prevent any future leakage. Our team installed a dry well below the FlexiSpan layer for the water to drain if it happens to permeate the layer. This is a great alternative to a full wall remodel.
Carole was thrilled to get this issue settled once and for all so she won't have to clean up puddles of water herself anymore!
Patrick knew something was up with his foundation support and that this was causing his uneven floors. He called Ayers hoping for crawl space support structures that would resolve this issue. We sent a crew to his home and from this inspection it was settled that SmartJacks would do the trick. SmartJacks consist of steel columns that are placed on a solid base in the floor and attached above to a supplemental beam. These columns will provide great strength and stability to the foundation support. The steel rods can even be extended over time if necessary for even better results. This crawl space repair system will correct the uneven floors as it will lift them to their original position. Patrick was thrilled with the results and now he won't have to worry about bouncy, uneven floors!
Robert had a block foundation with one wall bowing inward so he made the right move trusting Ayers to get this fixed up for him. After giving us a call we had a crew head over to his home for a free inspection. From this we were able to determine that our GeoLock Anchors would correct the bowing wall. This is a long lasting solution that will prevent any further inward movement of the wall. First we install the interior anchor plate and this sits on the inside of the foundation wall and will appear in your basement. Then we add a steel cable by drilling it through the plate, the wall, and the soil to a predetermined distance from the home. Lastly, another plate is anchored to the other end of the cable in stable soil. The photo demonstrates what this will look like. Soil pressure is what caused this wall's bowing movement in the first place so this solution will take care of this issue. We can even tighten the cable in the future which has the potential to straighten the wall. Robert was grateful to put an end to this serious issue!
Gerald knew his crawl space was in rough condition since there were wet spots and mold growing. He made the call to Ayers to figure out the best recommendations that would resolve these hazardous issues. We sent a team to his home for a free inspection and from there it was decided he could use our SmartSump for the crawl space and we suggested IceGuard and LawnScape Outlet for his exterior discharge lines. SmartSump is specially designed for crawl spaces and has a smart WaterWatch alarm system that will alert him as soon as water issues arise. This will protect his home from groundwater and leaks. Excess moisture and water will be taken care of by SmartSump which is what leads to this nasty mold in the first place. Next we added IceGuard because this antifreeze fitting has slotted openings that eject water, preventing the exterior discharge lines from freezing or clogging. Then we added LawnScape Outlet to the end of this discharge line to allow downspout water to escape more efficiently. It is buried underground and blends with the yard, preventing tripping hazards. Gerald was happy to receive an in-depth plan that will keep his home protected!
Patrick and Peggy have been living in their home for over thirty years. Prior homeowners have attempted their own DIY projects to repair and stabilize the home's crawlspace; however, the kitchen area continues to experience sagging floors. As Patrick and Peggy plan to renovate their kitchen, they know the first step is to stabilize the floors, so they called our experts at Ayers Basement Systems to help with a solution.
After our System Design Specialist visited Patrick and Peggy's home, we suggested our SmartJack® system. Our system is specifically designed for crawl spaces and effectively supports sagging beams and floor joists. A SmartJack® is used as supplemental column support where an existing column and pier foundation has settled.
The SmartJack® system is just the first phase in Patrick and Peggy's home renovations. The couple plans to eventually stabilize the rest of the home and encapsulate the crawl space to ensure water vapor and moisture are no longer a problem. They are happy with their current solution and are excited about protecting and renovating their home for the future.
Angie was looking to find a permanent solution for the foundation, yet she hadn't seen a company she trusted. Her floors were bowing and even separating from the wall in a particular place! After looking around, Angie decided to contact Ayers and explore her options. The team at Ayers conducted an inspection and determined that the foundation was settling, causing various issues. After thoroughly discussing what was found and what could fix her problems, Angie decided to go ahead with Ayers! Angie opted to have 6 SmartJacks installed in her home to stabilize her foundation and level her floors! Angie was thrilled with Ayers; the crew was great, and the project turned out amazing!
Aaron knew he needed a better waterproofing system that would tackle the water intrusion that would cause trouble in his basement. He called Ayers for our expertise, so we had our customer care team set up a time for a free inspection of the basement. Our System Design Specialists were able to determine our WaterGuard System and TripleSafe Sump Pump System would put an end to the leaks. WaterGuard is installed below the floor around the perimeter of the basement walls. This is a drainage system that collects the water coming in through the walls and sends it to the sump pump we hook it to directly. We also installed TripleSafe which is a three-pump system fitting in one durable liner. The first pump will keep most of the water under control, the second is there for backup, and the last pump is battery-operated to ensure it works when the power fails. Aaron now has a waterproofing system he can trust to do the job of keeping his home dry!
Tamara needed to fully finish her basement bedroom legally by adding an Egress Window. She called Ayers after discovering we install Egress Windows. These windows are larger and will make the space more inviting as natural light fills the room. The windows are legally required for many building codes because they allow a quick escape in emergency situations. Egress Windows will transform the basement into a regular living space, making Tamara's new bedroom feel homier. They will only add value to your home in the long run as well. Now Tamara has a waterproof, more attractive basement space!
Guy was concerned about the sagging floors in his home. A permanent solution was required. He searched for nearby companies with foundation repair options when he came across Ayers. We sent our system design specialists to inspect the home to determine which repair product would resolve his specific issues. The solution our crew recommended was SmartJacks. This system will provide a permanent solution to sagging floors and weak foundation support. SmartJacks consist of steel columns that attach to the floor joists above and rest on a sturdy base in the subfloor. The columns are easily adjustable and raise the floors to a level position. This reinforcement system can even support loads of over 60,000 pounds. Guy is no longer stressing over sagging, squeaky floors!
We sent a crew of waterproofing experts to a home in Davison, Michigan after we received a call from Sandra. This homeowner was concerned about the water intrusion in her basement. Our team concluded from the inspection that our WaterGuard system will resolve these basement leaks. This solution is perfect for wall leaks since this subfloor drainage system is placed along the perimeter of the basement below the walls. The drain collects water that seeps through the walls and directs the flow to the sump pump. To conceal the system, concrete is poured over the top. Now Sandra is feeling less stressed with a permanent solution to the leaks!
Edward called Ayers Basement Systems because of a musty smell in the main level of his Swartz Creek, Michigan, home. He also had cold floors in the living and dining rooms. He's had three companies come out previously to give him estimates, but after hearing what Ayers had to offer, he canceled the other companies.
After the initial inspection, we immediately determined that the crawl space under Edward's home was causing both the musty smell and the cold floors. To combat these issues, we would install CleanSpace with drainage matting underneath as well as rim joist insulation.
CleanSpace creates a protective shield against moisture, using a durable plastic liner that covers the entire crawl space to keep them dry and last decades longer. It also has antibacterial properties to prevent mold and bacterial growth, keeping the musty smell out of the house. Damp air takes more energy to heat and cool. Cutting down on the moisture in the crawl space will, in turn, cut down on how much it costs to heat and cool the home.
Edward had fiberglass insulation in his rim joist that we tore out to replace with our rim joist spray foam insulation. This is safer and will keep the floors upstairs much warmer.
Edward was confident after the installation that he chose the right company to work on his crawl space. He was so impressed with the professionalism and quality of work performed by our crew. He loved that we treated his home as if it was our own and wouldn't hesitate to have us back if the need ever arises.
We answered a call from Ronald, a homeowner looking to have an egress window installed for his newly finished basement. This space was about to become a bedroom, so this window was a great call. We sent an Ayers crew to the home to begin the installation. Egress windows are much bigger than the typical basement window, opening the area up. More fresh air and natural light will fill the room. This will make the basement feel less like a dungeon and more cozy as a new bedroom! Most importantly, this window also provides an exit in the case of an emergency.
Fred hoped Ayers had the waterproofing relief he desperately needed for his basement. There was a problem area where water would pool on the floor below his basement wall. Our system design specialist determined from an inspection that our WaterGuard system will eliminate these frustrating leaks. This interior drainage system will collect water seeping through basement walls. We place specially designed piping in the subfloor along the perimeter of the basement. This system gives the water a channel below the floor to direct the water to the sump pump. To complete the installation, we pour concrete over the drain to conceal it. Fred is feeling less stressed with this permanent waterproofing solution in action!
Shelly noticed the wooden support beams in her basement were no longer doing their job. He called Ayers for foundation support help. Our system design specialists determined from an inspection that SmartJacks will make an excellent replacement. SmartJacks are steel support columns that rest on a sturdy base in the subfloor and attach to the floor joists above. These posts are easily extendable to ensure our team can make any adjustments necessary in the future. This solution is permanent and substantially stronger than the wooden beams Shelly had previously!
Gail noticed her kitchen floor was slanted and didn't want the problem to worsen. She called Ayers and asked for our help, so we sent experts to evaluate. They determined it was slanted because of slanted floorboards in the crawl space. They decided it was best to install the SmartJacks supplemental support system. SmartJacks, unlike other floor jacks, are hot dipped in galvanized steel, zinc-plated, and built to hold heavy loads. Gail is happy to feel balanced in her kitchen!
Kevin knew his kitchen floor was slightly slanted for as long as he could remember. Over time, the slant became steep, so he knew it was time to call Ayers to ask for help. We sent a team of specialists to his home, who decided the SmartJacks supplemental support system would be the best solution. SmartJacks is a system of floor jacks, hot-dipped in galvanized steel, zinc-plated, and reinforced to bear large loads. Kevin immediately notices a difference in his kitchen floor!
Leanne was concerned about the water pooling on her basement floor. She decided to give Ayers a call to learn about our waterproofing solutions. Our experts visited her home and examined the basement to recommend a solution. They decided to install the TripleSafe sump pump. TripleSafe includes three pumps and is designed to react to pump failure. The system contains a primary and backup pump but also has a third, battery-powered pump in case of power outages. Leanne is relieved she doesn't have to worry about her pump failing again!
Stacy realized mold was growing in her crawl space and wasn't sure how to remove it. After researching online, she learned mold attaches and consumes organic material such as wood. Stacy called Ayers for help, and we sent trained professionals to her home to evaluate. They recommended installing CleanSpace, a vapor barrier lined with antimicrobial material to prevent mold growth. CleanSpace also entirely encapsulates the crawl space to eliminate moisture entry as well. Stacy can't believe how fast the installation process was!
Mark realized his living room floor was slanted and wasn't sure how to fix the issue himself. After researching his options online, he decided to call Ayers to learn about our foundation solutions. We sent a team of our experts to his home to evaluate the situation and they recommended installing the SmartJacks supplemental support system. SmartJacks are a system of floor jacks, hot-dipped in galvanized steel and zinc-plated to promote durability. Each base is implanted two feet below the surface to reduce load-bearing stress. Mark is happy with his level floor!
Robert noticed water leaking into his basement around the seams of the floor and walls. He knew it must be melting water from the snowstorm and wasn't sure how to fix the issue, so he called Ayers for help. We sent a team of professionals to his home to evaluate the space and recommend a solution. They suggested and installed WaterGuard, an advanced drainage pipe system designed to prevent clogging by sitting above the home's footing rather than alongside it. Robert feels much more prepared!
Rebecca was tired of the smell wafting from her basement and wanted to take care of it. She and her husband tried getting rid of it and would run a dehumidifier, but she still noticed the musty smell. Rebecca thought the problem was unfixable until she called Ayers to learn about our waterproofing solutions. Our specialists visited her home and recommended installing the CleanSpace vapor barrier. CleanSpace entirely encapsulates the crawl space to deter moisture entry, and it's lined with antimicrobial material to prevent mold growth. Rebecca is relieved to breathe comfortably in her home!
James moved into a new home and immediately realized there wasn't a reliable exit from the basement. Safety is a top priority for James and his family, so he researched his options online and called Ayers for help. We sent a team of specialists to his home to evaluate the situation and recommend a solution. They suggested the installation of an egress window to provide an easy evacuation during emergencies. Egress windows have built-in stairsteps for convenience and a polycarbonate safety cover to prevent surface falls. James loves his new window!
Charlotte realized water leaked into her basement around the seams of the floor and walls. She wasn't sure where it came from or how to fix it, so she researched her options and called Ayers for help. We sent a crew of professionals to her house to assess the space and recommend a solution. They suggested and installed WaterGuard, an advanced drainage pipe system to reduce clogs. Drainage pipes often clog because they sit alongside the home's footing, while WaterGuard sits on top and bypasses the mud and rock layer. Charlotte loves her new system!
