Standing Water
As you can see here, there is quite a bit of water that has found its way into this cottage's crawl space.
Dirt Crawl Space
Dirt floor crawl spaces are never a good idea. All they do is cause problems to pile up. A dirt floor means that the crawl space is exposed to the outside elements, which in turn gives moisture an easy entry. This explains why there is a musty smell and mold starting to accumulate.
Have No Fear, CleanSpace is Here!
CleanSpace is a plastic liner that is placed completely over the walls and floor, creating a constant blockage to anything outside of it.
CleanSpace Installation
Having CleanSpace installed will prevent future issues like these from occurring. It also has a very quick installation time, as it usually only takes one day of work to get it all set up.
IceGuard
Something that really comes in handy during colder months is our IceGuard drainage system. With IceGuard, it's designed on the outside of the house (or cottage) and automatically removes any water from the outside wall in case the pipe freezes. There are holes in the device that allow for the water to be ejected, but it is designed so water will not get out if the pipe is not frozen.
LawnScape Installation
The yard at Kurt's cottage has very little pitch, which means that there isn't much of downward slope to assist with drainage. However, our LawnScape outlet is very ideal for situations just like this one. The LawnScape outlet is able to drain water despite a yard having no downward slope. This is also a more aesthetically pleasing option as well, because it's flat on the ground, allowing it to blend in to the yard far better than a drain or chute that takes up a large portion of the yard.
Last But Not Least, SmartJacks
Our SmartJack support system is also designed specifically for crawl spaces. The SmartJack effectively supports sagging beams and floor joists, and has been tested to support over 60,000 pounds.
