Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Crawl Space Nightmare in Fennville, MI

This crawl space was giving our customer a major headache. The home was built in the early 70s and the crawl space walls and floor were made of concrete. Unfortunately, concrete floors and walls allow water and moisture to seep into the space. There was a sump pump, but it didn't have a way to pump out the water that was leaking under the home. The leaking water resulted in the wood under the home beginning to rot. Thankfully, we solved the crawl space waterproofing issue with the installation of CleanSpace, a sump pump and steel beam to support the foundation of the home.

Gross Crawl Space

Our customer called us in for this crawl space nightmare. Their current space looked like a wet dungeon. They were having some standing water issues, plumbing leaks, and some of the wood began to rot.

Old Sump Pump

This is the sump pump that was in the crawl space and not pumping out the leaking water.

Unsafe Crawl Space Entry

This is the previous cover, protecting the crawl space. This cover allows for moisture, animals, and dirt to enter the crawl space. These can result in potential mold growth, damage from critters and wood rot.

Lining Crawl Space Entry

We are lining this crawl space entry with the CleanSpace liner and drainage matting. This will keep the crawl space encapsulated and any water that may enter while you are using your crawl space will flow to the SuperSump to be pumped right out, keeping your space clean and dry.

SuperSump Sump Pump

The crawl space had standing water problems and other leaks. The SuperSump will pump out the water while the black drainage matting allows any water in the space to flow right to the sump pump.

Drainage Matting Installation

Unfortunately, this space has experienced a lot of water leaks and standing water. That water was not always able to make it to the sump pump. The drainage matting ensures any water that enters the crawl space will flow to the SuperSump sump pump and is pumped out.

New Crawl Space Entry Door

The new crawl space door is safer than the previous door, especially for a family with children. It's secure, so children will not fall in and animals can not climb through. The door also is made of inorganic material that will not warp due to varying weather conditions. Outside air will remain outside and moisture will not seep in.

IceGuard on the Outside of the Home

IceGuard protects your home from water backing up through the discharge lines in the cold winter months. When the line freezes, IceGuard is designed to discharge the water through its top to keep the water from reentering your home.
