This customer called us out to have a look at his crawl space. The problem with using common plastics as a floor barrier is that they aren’t guaranteed to last. Systems like these tear easily, leaving the space unprotected and looking like a mess. If only there was an energy efficient solution that would make this crawl space good as new while also improving the home…
Our complete crawl space repair system uses a combination of different products - SilverGlo walls, TerraBlock floor insulation, and CleanSpace vapor barrier - all working together to make your crawlspace the best it can be. The SilverGlo walls and TerraBlock floor act as insulation to improve the energy efficiency of your home and provide another layer between the crawl space and outside world. The CleanSpace liner is the icing on the cake. It is attached to the walls and covers the entire floor to encapsulate the area with a durable, mold resistant material. With the entire crawlspace insulated and protected, this homeowner will now save himself from heat loss and future repairs. Let us know if your crawlspace could use saving, too.
After buying this house from his parents, this Grand Ledge, MI customer began to notice something strange happening to the crawl spaces. Water was building up behind the walls and leaking into the dirty crawl space. He gave us a call asking about a complete encapsulation to dry out his crawl space and keep it that way. Since there was already standing water in the crawl space, the crew needed to give it a way to escape. Our crew installed drainage matting to handle the issue. Drainage matting rests on the floor of the crawl space and will keep water from having a chance to puddle up by directing the flow to a drain. Once the matting was in place, the crew went about encapsulating the entire crawl space – floor, walls and all – with the CleanSpace. The plastic liner won’t allow moisture or humidity to permeate back into this crawl space.
One afternoon we received a call from Dave, a homeowner in Grand Ledge, MI. He informed us that he was experiencing water seepage through the foundation walls in his crawlspace. This became a major concern for Dave as it led to significant moisture issues throughout his home. Dave had seen Ayers Basement Systems commercials on TV and had personally seen crawlspaces encapsulated by our crawl space experts! This made him very motivated to have his crawlspace encapsulated by us. After assessing Dave’s crawlspace needs, we installed our patented CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system to address the current issues being faced below his home. The CleanSpace encapsulation product is a 20mm thick plastic lining that completely seals off the crawl space from the harsh elements it faces below. To supplement the CleanSpace, we also installed FrothPak rim joist foam insulation. This will increase the energy efficiency of Dave’s home and help lower his energy costs. With this CleanSpace encapsulation system in place, we were able to turn this wet crawlspace into a healthy, dry and usable space.
Louise and her husband were trying to buy a new home in Grand Ledge, MI, but they had some major concerns about the crawl space. During the home's inspection they discovered the crawl space had rotten floors, mold, and there was no vapor barrier. They made the right call by trusting Ayers System Design Specialists to come and inspect these issues for possible solutions.
Ayers professionals decided the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier was a viable solution as it would prevent the excess moisture that causes mold and bacteria growth, that leads to these rotten floor issues. CleanSpace is a moisture vapor barrier that uses a stronger, thick plastic liner that runs along basement and crawl space walls in order to keep them dry. Our vapor barrier solution will be more cost effective in the long run for their heat and cooling bills and will last for decades, as the liner used will not rip easy.
This couple was thrilled to get these issues with their crawl space handled before they officially settled into their new home!
Denise realized that his foundation had been shifting and that his crawl space was accumulating moisture. Denise decided to call Ayers to explore his options, and a System Design Specials was sent to his home for an inspection. The Ayers team concluded that multiple foundational and waterproofing systems were needed to address his problems. One of the products installed was CleanSpace which utilizes a durable, heavy-duty plastic liner that lines the crawl space. The liner created a vapor barrier preventing moisture from entering the house. Instead, the water drains behind the liner and funnels into a drain system. CleanSpace not only cleaned up Denise's crawlspace, but it will also help him save money as his home will heat and cool more efficiently!
