Ceresco Crawl Space Tranformed from Creepy to Clean Ceresco Crawl Space Tranformed from Creepy to Clean

One look at the before picture of this crawl space, and you likely wouldn’t want to step foot in it. It’s cold, dark, and even worse—damp. The after picture shows the dramatic transformation of the space after the addition of SilverGlo insulation and a CleanSpace crawl space liner. SilverGlo comes in panels, and is manufactured with graphite particles, which makes it shiny. This isn’t just for looks, though; these particles resist heat conduction and reflect heat back into the crawl space.

CleanSpace, unlike other crawl space liners, is extremely thick and durable. Installed on the floor and even the walls of the crawl space seals of the home from the earth, keeping moisture out. Eliminating moisture in the crawl space not only keeps it dry, but prevents mold from growing, and keeps the air clean.

This dramatic transformation not only visibly brightens the space, but provides a barrier to moisture and mold, and keeps the space warm and energy efficient.

Mary noticed her kitchen floor was slanted and worried about the damage this could cause, so she called Ayers to learn about our foundation solutions. We sent our professionals to her home to evaluate and recommended installing the SmartJacks supplemental support system. SmartJacks are hot-dipped in galvanized steel and zinc plated, making them far sturdier than store-bought floor jacks. As the house moves and shifts, the jacks can be adjusted to fit the need. Mary loves the longevity of her new system!

Mary's kitchen floor has slanted ever since she moved into her home. She tried many DIY projects to fix the issue, but nothing worked, so she researched her options and called Ayers for help. We sent a crew of specialists to her home to investigate, and they recommended installing the SmartJacks supplemental support system. Encapsulating and Insulating Ceresco, MI Crawl Space

Dawn and Richard F. contacted us because they were looking to encapsulate and insulate their crawl space. The space had block walls and an exposed dirt floor that was allowing moisture and outside air to easily enter the area.

We installed the CleanSpace liner to encapsulate the crawl space. The liner was both waterproof and vapor proof to keep any unwanted moisture out of the space and was used to completely seal the floor and walls. The liner was cut to fit the dimensions of the crawl space and secured tightly into place to prevent it from falling down over time.

To insulate the area, we used FrothPak spray foam insulation. This specialized insulation works much better than traditional fiberglass insulation because it doesn’t absorb ambient moisture and will not grow mold if it got wet. The spray foam ensured all small spaces within the crawl space were effectively insulated and sealed off from the outside environment.

This customer had water entering his basement and was looking for a reliable solution. The home had a sump pump that was attached to a French tile system, although it was unable to get rid of water fast enough when the water table would rise.

We first installed the WaterGuard system to deal with the intruding water. This drainage system was installed underneath the flooring around the interior perimeter of the basement to collect water from any point. The water collected was then discarded into the sump pump.

We installed the TripleSafe sump pump system to take the place of the ineffective one that was in the home at the time. This sump pump included a sturdy liner, airtight lid and 3 effective pumps to ensure water would always be effectively pumped outside of the home.

The IceGuard system was installed on the home’s discharge lines to protect the space from frozen pipes. The system has specialized holes that water from the sump pump can exit through in case the lines were frozen, which prevents the water from re-entering the home. We also installed a LawnScape outlet on the line to carry water out away from the property.

Combating Water Intrusion in Ceresco, MI Basement

This home had water leaking into the basement through the wall that separated the crawl space and the basement. Water was specifically entering the home near the base of the wall and the existing sump pump was located opposite to the water intrusion, so there was no drainage into the pump. The basement was used as a laundry room and storage, so the homeowner wanted the space waterproofed.

Water that was entering the home needed a route that would lead it directly to the sump pump, which is why we installed the WaterGuard system. This system includes piping that we installed underneath the flooring in the home, leaving a small opening up against the wall so water could enter the system. The pipes were placed around the interior perimeter of the basement to ensure water leakage from any location in the basement was being collected and drained into the sump pump. Several inspection ports were also installed in this system to ensure we have access if a problem occurs.

Next we replaced the old sump pump found in the home with a more effective and economical solution called SuperSump. This sump pump system has a sturdy liner that accepts water from the WaterGuard pipes and from underground. The system has an airtight lid that prevents water in the sump from evaporating into the basement and a floor drain that allows water to immediately enter the sump if a leak or flood occurs. A stand is also included to lift the system up off the floor to prevent it from clogging with dirt.

To ensure water is easily removed and drained away from the home we installed the IceGuard system and a LawnScape outlet. We installed IceGuard on the home’s discharge line that has specialized holes to guide water out of the pipes even if they freeze during the cold winter months. This is important because if water is unable to exit, it will re-enter the home and cause a flood. The LawnScape outlet was placed at the end of the discharge line to discard water out away from the home and prevent it from flowing back toward the basement.
