Preparing for WaterGuard
WaterGuard is a French Drain system installed around the entire edge of the space. The drain sits above the home's footing and below the concrete floor, removing it from sight! To place the WaterGuard system, the cement in Ron and Sharon's basement needed to be torn up and removed where the system would be placed.
Placing Down the WaterGuard System
Once the trenches were dug, A liner was placed inside the track, and the WaterGuard drain was placed on top of the liner. The drains went around Jons and Sharon's basement, eventually all connecting and funneling towards the sump pump.
Covering the Drain
The Drain system was covered and filled with small rocks, and a lip was placed next to the edge of the wall. The lip on the wall will catch the water from the walls. After everything was placed and set, the drain system was covered back up with concrete to eliminate any signs of the system in Ron and Sharon's home!
Installing the DoubleSafe Sump Pump
Since Ron and Sharon did not have a sump pump present in their home, water had no way to make it out of the home. Thus, they installed the DoubleSafe unit, which utilizes two sump pumps within one liner. If the bottom pump fails or is overloaded, the secondary pump will kick on and begin running. The DoubleSafe sump pump will eliminate any water from Ron and Sharon's basement!
