Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Sump Pump Saves Moldy Saginaw, MI Home
Rosa and her shop-vac have been working overtime in her finished Saginaw, MI basement. Her husband passed away about a year ago and this was the last thing she needed to be dealing with. There was no sump pump in her home and every time it rained, the basement flooded. She called Ayers for an inspection and right away we saw the walls were moldy and there was standing water in multiple areas where the floor met the walls. Our crew determined that Rosa would need a full waterproofing system. We would install WaterGuard, a TripleSafe sump pump, and an exterior discharge line.
After the installation, Rosa could finally let go of this added stress in her life and get her peace of mind back. She was grateful for the work Ayers could do for her and will rest easy knowing her basement is no longer at risk of flooding every time it rains.
WaterGuard
WaterGuard is a sub-floor waterproofing system that collects water that leaks through the walls and keeps dirt away from the foundation. It is installed along the perimeter of the basement and on top of the footing of the foundation. Concrete is poured on top and regular flooring can be placed on top.
TripleSafe Sump Pump
The TripleSafe sump pump system utilizes three pumps in order to remove excess water from the basement. The second and third pumps are in case of emergencies so the basement can remain dry, even when the power goes out.
Exterior Discharge Line
An exterior discharge line is a drain installed leading to the low point of the property, sending water away from the home. Since the system itself is inside, there's no dirt to clog it up and water is effectively discharged via the sump pump.
