Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Stopping Leaks and Reinforcing the Home's Support

Dr. Lim has seen some new cracks on the interior wall in their bedroom and living room. Not wanting to waste any time, they contacted Ayers to find a solution. Upon his arrival, our foreman was able to listen to Dr. Lim's concerns and draft a list of treatments that would address the problem. Evan decided to use a SmartJack pier to reintroduce support to the settling home. Evan also added Helical Piers to the home as another means of helping reinforce the supportive works of the home. The final treatment Evan used was a CleanSpace lining to protect the home from any potential moisture.

SmartJack Crawl SPace Support

The home's support was not up to par so to help reinforce the framework Evan installed SmartJack piers. SmartJacks are steel piers that are placed along the home's rim joist. The bottom of the pier is anchored into the ground with poured concrete. The tops are fixed with load-bearing joints that are attached and adjusted till the piers are providing constant support.

Stabilizing Foundation

To prevent the home from further settling Evan and his team installed a set of helical piers. The peirs prevent the home from sinking further and provide a new foundation that is less intrusive than replacing the original. Helical Piers are long metal drives that are driven under the home at an angle deep beneath the weak foundational ground and into new frim soil. The tops are capped with loadbearing concrete blocks that the home rests upon, giving it a permeate flat surface,

Protective Lining

To prevent any further damage to the home, Evan and his team fitted the home's crawl space with a CleanSpace Lining. CleanSpace protects against moisture which is a mage risk to a home's health. CleanSPace is an antimicrobial lining that is placed on every flat surface. THe lining provides a barrier between vulnerable material in the supportive framework and any water that might enter the home.
