Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Upgrading a Basement in Haslett, Michigan

One customer in Haslett needed serious improvements to help waterproof their basement. They needed a dry basement for their home to be safe for the whole family. We came in and installed 3 main products to help: a TripleSafe sump pump that would do the best job at keeping the basement dry even in severe situations, the IceGuard system which would allow the water to discharge even in freezing temperatures, and a LawnScapeOutlet which would discharge the water from the TripleSafe sump pump away from the house, it is placed discretly underneath the lawn so that it is not a tripping hazard. This installation protected the whole family from an unsafe basement.

Unsafe Old Pump

This old pump is not safe for the house. It has no lid which allows for floods to occur when there are large amounts of water arriving in the basement.

Bottom of Old Pump

There is only one pump which means if that pump fails or cannot pump out as much water as the amount of water coming in, the basement will start to flood. Having only one pump is not very reliable to waterproffing the basement.

Old Discharge Line

This is the old discharge line which is the outlet for the water collected by the sump pump. This drops water really close to the house, making the water more likely to re-enter the basement. The homeowner attempted to direct the water away from the house with the black tube however it is very worn and doesn't move the water far away from the house.

New LawnScape Outlet

This new LawnScape Outlet will move all of the water away from the house without providing a trip hazard. This outlet has a detachable lid which allows removable of any debris caught in the outlet. Once the grass grows back, this outlet will be very discrete.

Brand New IceGuard

This new IceGuard will help protect the home from the cold michigan winters. Whenever the temperature hits below freezing, it is very likely for ice to form and block the discharge line. The IceGuard helps resolve that problem by directing water just outside the top of the line so that the discharge line does not remain blocked.

New And Improved TripleSafe Sump Pump

Instead of the disfunctional sump pump. The TripleSafe has three pumps which allows for more reliable waterproofing and it can even operate efficiently when the power is down. This pump even has a lid which helps protect the three pumps from being damaged. This pump also has a battery-operated third pump which allows it to be used when the power is out and can pump up to 24,000 gallons of water from the basement.

New Discharge Line Installation

Instead of a faulty black tube that can get in the way, this new line is much safer and effective. This discharge line pushes everything collected from the TripleSafe past the IceGuard and through the LawnScape Outlet far away from the house which eliminates the water from re-entering the basement.
