Basement Windows To Get An Upgrade
These basement windows were a decent size, but larger egress windows could let in more light and create more visual interest on the exterior of the home.
New Windows Can Brighten Dark Basement
The current windows did let in a decent amount of light but often in basements, there was still room for improvement. There were a lot of dark areas in the space still.
Excavation And Demolition Begins
To install the egress rings, only about 2 feet of soil needed to be excavated around the window. Once completed, the block walls were cut to the necessary size for the new larger windows.
Chimney Drains Allow For Proper Drainage
Egress wells can become like swimming pools or access points for water to enter the basement if proper drainage isn't considered. Chimney drains in these wells direct water out before it becomes a hazard.
Completed Egress Windows Look Fantastic
The finished windows look some much bigger from the outside and let a lot more light in. They egress windows also add interest to the outside appearance of the home.
