Quincy, MI Basement Water Management

Challenge

This home, built in the 1940s with a stone foundation, has experienced water entering the basement for over 30 years, primarily from the south side. Over time, the water problem has worsened, with increasing amounts of water entering during rain and snowmelt.

Solution

We installed a drainage system to redirect water from the foundation, along with a Zoeller sump pump for efficient water removal. A dehumidifier was added to improve air quality, and barriers were applied to prevent future water entry. The system includes an exterior outlet and freeze protection.

A trench is excavated along the foundation wall to create a path for the WaterGuard system.

The installation of a sump pump is shown, alongside the waterproofing system. The walls have been lined with a vapor barrier to prevent water seepage, and the drainage system is being finalized.
