Michael noticed water moisture seeping into his basement and wasn't sure how to prevent it. After researching his options online, he called Ayers to learn about our waterproofing solutions. Our specialists stopped by his house to examine the space and recommended installing the CleanSpace vapor barrier. CleanSpace is an antimicrobial-lined material that is applied uninterruptedly to the basement walls and floors to eliminate moisture and prevent mold growth. Michael can't believe how dry his basement is!

Alicia and Scott called because they had been dealing with leaks in their Ann Arbor basement. The walls and floors were both cracked and allowing water to enter. Their house already had a sump pump, but it wasn’t getting the job done. The basement needed a full waterproofing system.

The crew installed a WaterGuard perimeter drainage system to escort any water from floor or wall leaks out of the house. The drainage system would be pointless, if used with an inefficient sump pump. A TripleSafe sump, our most reliable sump pump, was installed to replace the faulty sump. The TripleSafe has two back-ups to ensure that the system keeps discharging water, even if the original pump is being overpowered or a power failure occurs. The TripleSafe sump also uses two discharge lines to carry water out. To keep these lines as reliable as their new sump pump, the team added in an IceGuard for each. The guards will help the discharge lines operate when temperatures drop below freezing. Lastly the crew set up a SaniDry XP humidifier to keep the basement feeling as dry as it would now look.

The team first needed to excavate the soil where the egress was planned to be placed. Unfortunately, John called us while the seasons were changing and the ground was softening from melting snow. Once the ground was dry again the team got to work. The window and accompanying well were installed after removing the soil. The cover that sits on top of the well allows sunlight to reach the basement while also keeping air and everything else out.
