Nicholas and Lisa S. called because they had water coming in through the foundation in their basement. The water was entering in two separate areas and it only occurred during heavy rainfall. The affected area of the basement was finished, so the homeowners wanted the problem fixed before further damage to the home occurred.
In order to collect and discard intruding water in the home, we installed the TripleSafe sump pump system. This system is extremely effective at keeping basements safe thanks its sturdy liner and effective pumps. The first pump is set low in the liner and does most of the work. The second pump is located higher in the liner and takes over if the first pump is unable to keep up with the amount of water entering the system. Lastly, the third pump is battery powered to ensure water can be pumped outside of the home even if the power goes out.
Next we installed the IceGuard system on the home’s discharge line. During the cold winter months, discharge lines can become blocked with snow and ice, which can prevent water from exiting the home. That water then sits in the lines and freezes, which can cause the basement to flood if water from the sump is unable to leave the home. IceGuard has specialized holes that immediately eject water from the sump pump so the homeowners never have to worry. A LawnScape outlet was also placed at the end of the discharge line to prevent exiting water from flowing back toward the home.
