Christine was hoping to get a nice Egress Window installed for her basement that she was in the process of finishing. She realized Ayers sells Egress Windows so she decided to call. We had one of our crews come out to her home and begin the installation after she set the appointment with us!
Our Egress Windows are great for finishing basements because they are larger which opens up the space more. Many places legally require Egress Windows as well since they include a quick, safe exit option for emergency situations. If someone is going to be living down there, they probably don't want that dark, dungeon feel most basements have. This window will make the basement more inviting as more natural light and fresh air will fill the space. Not to mention they will add value to your home for the future and are waterproof.
With the benefits of the Egress Window being plentiful, Christine is happy with the final result!
Michael and his family were frustrated with the musty smell coming from their crawlspace and wanted to create extra storage space. They called Ayers Basement Systems for help. After inspecting the space, Ayers recommended encapsulating the crawlspace. They used a durable vapor barrier, drainage matting, foam insulation, and specialized fasteners and tape to complete the job. With these upgrades, the musty smell is gone, and the crawlspace is now clean and usable.
Paul worried his foundation walls would cave in if the cracks continued to grow and deepen. He didn't want the issue to worsen, so he researched his options and called Ayers for assistance. Our trained professionals visited his home and installed the PowerBrace repair system to stabilize the wall and prevent caving. The PowerBrace system connects steel beams to joists above the wall with steel brackets. Afterwards, everything is tightened into place and the wall is secure once again. Paul loves how fast the project was completed!
This home built in the 1940’s in Portage, MI received a crawl space transformation thanks to CleanSpace. Originally a lake cottage, it’s likely that this space experienced some leaks, creating moisture in the space. Before encapsulating the crawl space, our team installed drainage matting so any that any water that enters the crawl space can flow underneath the liner directly to the sump pump. After the matting was in place, a flexible, tear resistant CleanSpace liner was fitted in the space. The liner is manufactured with an antimicrobial additive to prevent mold growth and stops water vapor. Its bright white color dramatically transforms the crawl space aesthetically while completely sealing the area off from the earth.
Vent covers come in 3 colors, black, gray and red brick to match the foundation of your home. Vents in a crawl space usually do more harm than good. Vents allow in water, moisture, bugs, dirt and everything else you don't want in your home. These vent covers permanantly seal your vents closed so you don't have to worry about any of these problems again.
